Just played Stilton Oaks (in peterborough)

Well as the wife has been away for the day i thought i would finish work early and have a round at stilton. I had been told its a poor course and not to bother.

I would like to start by saying it was a challange, not only my first round there but i had rain and strong winds. never the less i enjoyed it and ended up with a 86, par was 72.

If you fancy a change and want a challange give it a go. The green keeper/owner is very good and gives the odd tip.

Drive past it every day but never been that tempted. If I was looking for a round after work it would be on the twilight rate at Thorpe Wood.

How much do they charge there?

Well i arrived at 3.50 and it cost £14.00... If your I would put it up there with TW. Greens are not as good, but the course plays really hard. I loved it and would tell anyone to have a go. TW and OM seem so easy after playing Stilton.

Sounds a bit cheesey to me...

Unusual that the greenkeeper owns the course. Just how odd are his tips?

Well he has 1 eye, Thants odd... I assume he owns it, I may be wrong.
