On the contrary. Aired and dried after each round and regularly cleaned and polished. Don't smell and apart from a small bit of wear inside the left heel thwy are fine. Sadly the leather has now started to finally split but still good for the practice ground for now. Just because something is old doesn't make it bad or defective
 
If the shoe fits, wear it I say. If something is comfortable and lasts long enough for it to be considered worth the money, then thats all thats required in my book as I tend not to look at my feet when I am playing golf. :rolleyes: In fact, someone could probably get through 16 or 17 holes before I noticed them wearing wellies :D
