Just How Bad.....

Tis getting better although thats like saying getting your leg chopped off from the knee is better than the hip

After a good start he's been going backwards since Thursday, he has a great long game but the old adage "drive for show putt for dough" could've been based upon Lee in Majors it seems. Shame, Monty was the same, short game just not quite there.

If Westwood was as confident with a wedge in his hand as he is with a driver he would be practically unbeatable.....The sad fact is he is not and its been exposed big time this weekend.....

If he'd actually putted well this week he'd probably be sitting on about 10 under, the amount of short putts he's missed this week is silly, nevermind the fact that he could have avoided a few of those missed putts if some of his chips had got anywhere close to the hole... I don't think his short game is good enough to win the masters, us open or the open, maybe the uspga if he's lucky

Perhaps he has a very good short game but just bottles under pressure in the majors. The same as Monty, Andy Murray, Jimmy White at the crucible and I expect there are more. If his short game was as bad as some people say why would he win any comp or even get close. I personally think he bottles. Would love him to win loads of majors but sadly I dont think he will get one.

his short game is dire,no confidence or imagination he knows it himself and you can see him physical slump when he sees a tricky chip he should change coaches and go to harmon but a lot of it is in his head, big comment coming but i don't think he will ever win a major unless he can get his short game sorted.

I do think Augusta presents a unique challenge though wit the severity of their greens. Most of the other majors wit the exception of certain US Open venues are pretty fair tests and so you can play more for the flag which is Westwoods strength. As someone who has had his own short game gremlins which definitely infected the space between the ears I do think its 890%mental with him now and he just doesn't see the shot or have the confidence to execute. Still think there is enough about him to win a major especially if you look at some of the one win wonders there have been over the years. It just needs it to click on 4 days
