evening all.......over the past few days ive been considering buying a new driver as ive been having trouble
with the one im using at the moment.

thanks again to everyone who gave advice on my previous posts regarding my driver problem

following advice given by a few people i decided to book a lesson with a pro at my local golf course.

the problem is both the driver and my swing
but ive been given some exercises to practice
and advised to buy a driver with reg flex and between 12-14 degrees of loft

during my lesson i was given a tm r7 to try and i couldnt believe the difference more loft and a reg shaft made i was smashing the ball about 240 yards loads of hight and straight

The shaft is the most important piece of the equation as its the engine room and so you need one to give you optimum performance. I think unless you swing really fast a regular will suffice. The extra loft should reduce side spin (i.e. a slice or hook) more than 10.5 or lower. I actually switch to a 12 degree in winter to get more carry when the fairways are wet.

My advice is to focus more on the drills and getting a decent swing with a driver than coveting one particular model or a newbie. If you swing correctly you can hit any driver and so if a new one is still what you ultimately want to ge then there will be a whole plethora to choose from
