Just can't finish a round

I came off 15 today 6 over gross, I then played the final 3 holes in 6 over to finish 12 over par.

This is not the first time this year it has happened, I have done similar for a good position at least 3 times. Anybody looking at my cards could think I was up to something.

Sometimes I count my score, other times I don't. I didnt today and I still make a mess of it.

Just so fustrated coming off. I have felt better about a round when I have stuggled for 15 but finished with a par.

A week and a half off from the game as I am off on holiday.

Did the same thing in consecutive medals last year, making almost identical blunders both times. It happens but don't let it get to you mentally when you stand on the 16thand 17th tees.

In medal rounds it is hard to maintain momentum and concentration, so it can help to break it up a bit.

I play off 8, so I set a target of playing each 3 holes in 1 over par gross, 6 over total. I play 1, 2 and 3, and then start again in the next in a series of 6 little matches. If I score level, I win the 3 holes. If I score 6 over, I just lose that series of 3 and forget about it.

yeterday (saturday)I did the same thing at my local course, but now I its getting to me,I play off 18 but normaly play the front 9 4 or 5 over par,I play the next 5 holes at 4 over,that when the rot in.one par 3 next downhill take a 5 the next 3 holes are all uphill,and thats where my game goes.on a flat coure my round is 3 to 4 shots better

I tried splitting the round into 3 groups of 6 holes and it really helped for me. Will give it another go this coming weekend.
