Quick update.

Thanks for all the good wishes, it was much appreciated.

Finished officially on 31st July, but really finished Friday before that. Had a bit of good news, after thinking they only had to give me 4 weeks notice I found out it was actually 9 weeks, so got a bit more on top of my redundancy money than I expected. They did forget to pay me for July. Quickly pointed out their error

I have decided to go out on my own, so have spent the last few days setting up my computer, phone etc. Didn't sound like much but took forever. All my existing clients have been very good and said they will still use me, as they say it was the person they dealt with and not the firm, so that is good news.
My business is called Ayrshire Architecture and I am offering a full range of architectural services, like my facebook page if you get a chance.
Working from home at the moment which seems a little strange as my daughter is on holiday from school, it will appear more real when everyone is back at work and school.
Looking forward to the challenge, but not the uncertainty of self employment.

There are good links with the Ayrshire business groups.
If you have not done so contact the local council and ask what support networks are available.
