Hi,

just had a quick look through the new mag, very good as per normal, found the feature on the Howlett family very intresting and I think it was great for you to arrange for them to play Loch Lomond.

It got me thinking what is the best/favourite course you have played and why? You can only pick 1 course.

For me it is Woodhall Spa (Hotchkin course), I found it very challenging and also the greens were very true. The course itself is in beautiful surroundings and the bunkers are very hard (however this makes you play them better.)

If you haven't played it them you must try to.

I will put a review of the course up this week sometime.

Cheers

Midnight...

I have to say for me it would be Bearwood Lakes. For a young course it looks like it has been there for decades and is a varied and testing course with sublime facilities and is in great condition all year round.

I'd love to play the Hotchkin and its on my to do list. I have seen lots of good reviews of the place

Hard pressed to choose between The Brabazon and the PGA National, The Brabazon just edges it due to its history but I think the PGA is a better track!

Absolutely couldn't fault the entire place for the 2 days we were there and would go back in a flash given the opportunity.

Tandragee, Co Armagh - Byest - me - never.

Ok, toss up between Roganstown, Dublin and Shandon Park, Belfast - To be honest I have not really played any big names.

I like hilly parkland with variety of options that thought is required.

Ken A glad to hear the thumbs up for my home course.

My favourite Mount juliet.

sorry for any confusion, teegirl @ bobs :)
I know the posts are about the July magazine, but a few reports of nice courses on the thread. I had a look at GM and someone put a link too "Moor Hall", anyone been there, member, or any comments? Looks v-nice (sorry it's Bobs pewter)

have only played between 30 and 40 courses in UK & Ireland but my favourite was TRALLEE
challanging, scenic, good condition
on the downside it has become a bit pricy. On my first visit to Trallee back in 1992 I payed 25 IEP compare that to today's fees
