Jubilee Concert

The premise of the actual concert was good, and the atmosphere seemed good (the amount of people lining the ENTIRE length of the Mall was ridiculous!)...but most of the performances were utterly abysmal and out of tune. The Commonwealth song was a highlight. Even Stevie Wonder's performance couldn't save the evening as a whole.

I like Gazza Barlow and he's done a good thing here, but really....Paul McCartney to close the show...again? Yawn! The only saving grace was the fact he closed the show with possibly the worst Beatles song of all time, which makes a change from the standard 25 minute rendition of "Hey Jude" (he's obviously saving that for the Opening Ceremony of the Games, can't wait!). Magical Mystery Tour was a nice surprise too..but the rest of his set was cliche and predictable.

Madness were probably the best bit (well, the light show projected onto the Palace wall in any case).

A good event that could have been better, but that is the risk of live TV that's had little or no rehearsal.

I agree about Lennie Henry and all the 'Black' shouts, he really is a nob.

Grace Jones ffs - just WHO's idea was that ???? and she looked like she'd been dug up.......

Cant stand that old goat of a Beatle, he's nausiating........bout time we gave him his P45 as a Nation ffs. He hasnt done anything 'good' SINCE the Beatles.

Cliff Richard..........I mean cmon.........jeezuz........he's 71 ffs !! As usual - nausiatingly crap.

Oh.......and 'technically'........Anni Lennox, Gary Barlow, & Jessie J all have the same profession as Cheryl Cole..........

Overalll the concert seemed to please the 'easy to please' masses, but I thought it could have been spectacularly better .

Most of the acts were disappointing, but it was still a good concert overall (apart from Cheryl Cole, Will.i.am and Grace Jones). The 'Our House' lighting effects were brilliant. It was also the first time I'd seen a firework display perfectly synchronised with the music.

I agree, and the most disappointing for me was Elton John - a shadow of his former self.

The best by far, vocally, was Tom Jones. No problem singing live for him, very impressive for his age.

Surprised that no one has mentioned THE song for the Queen, "Sing". To get them all together and to perform as they did, live, was fantastic. I particularly liked the blind Aborigine guy, with his unique voice, which could be heard above all others, but sadly not enough of.

I saw it and did enjoy it BUT......

Grace Jones. Really? Is that the best we can do? Where was Coldplay, Mumford & Sons, The Stone Roses and a whole host of other excellent British bands? Did they not want to play because they're all republicans?

I was surprised and would have liked to have seen Adele, but perhaps she and others were previously contracted elsewhere.

Let's not forget though, it was supposed to be, FOR THE QUEEN not us.

I liked the Sing single and really enjoyed the documentary that Gary Barlow did with it too. Elton John live is still a great show but McCartney should be pensioned off. The highlight to me was the way the palace windows changed during Madness

Coldplay were down the road performing to 65000 people at the Emirites. London must have been HELL on Monday!

Can't imagine anything worse than Mumford and Sons though! The most boring over rated band since...er....Coldplay!
