On Sky at the moment and they have a situation where a player is trying to put his ball down after marking on the green but it is blowing away from his marker.......our esteemed commentator goes on to say "it's unplayable now,I mean if he does that with his putter behind the ball then it's a penalty on the player".

This cock is getting paid to commentate on a sport that he is a Professional in and he does not even know the rules!!!!!

Jesus,I cannot stand the man!!

Watching European Tour events is the fud...

For the PGA Tour coverage there's aimpoint, protracer, two guys in the studio and their 'shot center', for the European tour there isn't even spectators on the course!!... drab is the only word I can think of, it's not often I turn over to watch something else :(

I don't mind any of the commentators, even Mark Roe!, but they're on a loser the moment the boring coverage starts... I wouldn't like to have to make that crap appear interesting for 4hrs.

It isn't about making it interesting,it's about getting the basic facts correct JO!!

Christ,he went on to say it again then as TXL says McFarlane came in and stated the actual ruling not the ........ crap the fud was reciting.........silence was deafening.

For what it is worth I don't struggle to watch the European Tour just because there is little atmosphere,I find the courses way more interesting and varied than the PGA Tour ones but watching it becomes tedious when you have .... like him talking utter pish!!

You're lucky to see any golf played on the PGA coverage, I only watch it when I've recorded it (thank you Sky+) so I can fast-forward through the guff. Lucky if 20% of the recording is actual golf.:sbox:

at least we don't have the bigoted johnny i hate the europeans miller, and the yank commentators all seem to have the same nasal twang, give me radar and boxy every time.

Facts?... don't talk to me about facts, I know where the frikkin' clubface points!!!! :D:p:D

I did see mention of how hard it is to hit the ball low into the wind... until the other guy said the newer ball spins less and the player simply used too much loft..... you could literally hear the 'Hawksworth' silence :D:D:D

These B events in Europe always have crap commentators. I think Boxall does ok but Hawksworth just can't cut it and should be dropped not only from that job but as a pundit in the studio as well. No persona, no idea

I actually thought the player was acting like the knob, what did he want a gimmie!! 15 minutes he held play up for waiting for a new weather front. He plays the game professionally & he pretended to not know the rules!

Had Richard been scheduled to work this event, I very much doubt he would have done so as, sadly, his father passed away on Friday.

Colin Boxall will be sorely missed at the club as he was such a great character, terrific sense of humour and was very competitive. He played golf to a very good standard, I played with him last year when he beat his age, 76.
