Myself and MrsWoo are looking to go away for a weeks golf in January. UK to somewhere warmer. Have been to Tunisia (Hammemet) before, so that is a strong possibility. Any suggestions to destinations resorts would be appreciated. Looking to spend approx £1k.
Both of us are high handicappers 26 and 34 (pub golf society), so don't hold official handicap certificates.

If you are looking for sun in Jan, there aren't too many choices. North Africa, Dubai, the Caribbean and Florida are probably the best bets, but some of those would be difficult within budget.

Budget isn't fixed so Dubai is a possibility, although would prefer less flight time. Not necessarily looking for hot weather, 15 C plus would be fine, so Tunisia, Morroco, Portugal would be of interest. Just wondering if anyone had any specific reccomendations?

Back in January this year I've been to Islantilla resort at Spain's Costa de la Luz. OK, on day 2 we had an early tee time and it was quite chilly (4°). With the sun coming through temperatures become more acceptable with max reaching 17 °C. Golf courses (3 x 9 holes) OK, hotel (food, service, bar) very good and great value for money

Flight, car rental, half board, 5 rounds of golf for under 700 Euro. Prices rise quite dramatically later in the year.

Last year I went to Portugal (Algarve) in late January for a week. Flights and a 4* hotel for £150, and golf was about €45-60 per round.

I wouldn't say it was hot but it was dry.
