Was at the local Jaguar dealer checking out the Jag XF. What a beauty of a car. On the exterior, it is a bit of a gangsta car with an attitude. On the inside, the dash is very basic and very few buttons - i.e. until you press the Start button. As soon as you hit Start, the air vents move, the gear dial jumps out, the full touch nav comes to life!!

Not bad on finance either. Apparently, their top deal on the Sports model was 1500 deposit and 499 monthly. My worry at the moment, is that it is not a very inconspicuous car - so cant 'blend in'.

Anyone with experience on the XF.

My dad is meticulous when buying cars. He currently has an S type and he's looking into purchasing an XF. From the amount of research he's had me doing into them. I can highly recommend them.

Our MD and group executive have one.

The MD has the 2.0l Diesel, and the group exec' has the XFR - in black and that is a nice piece of kit.

The chap in charge of our UK operations has a 5.0l XJ. Now that is a nice motor.

Oh how the other half live

Father in law has the XFR-What a beast of a car. 504bhp its like a rocketship. Quite long and the boot isnt massive(take the woods out before you put bag in) but the interior really is somehing special. I love the reversing camera and the way the vents all undo when you start the car up. Oh and that V8 growl really is something that makes your spine tingle.

I just loved it.. and I am sure the finance will be no worse than having a C class Merc. The 2.0/2.2l Diesel is also frugal.

My big worry is getting the label of 'Oh how the other half live' .. not the best label if you are middle management..

I'm pretty sure you won't be labeled anything with a standard XF. If you really like the car, stuff what others say.

Even the Stnd XF is pretty bling. Saw a sports version, abso lady in Red...

The old Jags were just Mondeos.. dont forget Ford owned Jag a few years ago. I had a basic X type, and she was just a Mondeo with a different skin on.

Jag now owned by Tata, who have poured money into the design. I am sure there are common bits, but the XF (and the others are now clean cut away from a Mondeo)

Also Ford exiting UK manufacturing over the next 2 years!!!

£499 per month!

I'm looking at a new Corsa as a run around at £120 a month and thinking its too steep, then again I'm a tight fisted Scotsman according to another thread!

If you up the deposit, you can get it under £400

I think we will end up with a Jetta or a Passat. Though my heart still pines for an XF. #RationOverEmotional
