Jack's lost it...or has he?!

As long as it doesn't affect me playing golf the way it is now he can fill his boots as far as I'm concerned. I'm not sure how it would encourage more people to play though

Maybe he should bring the 20/20 cricket style to golf....

We've already got Powerplay Golf, we don't need to trick it up any more. There are millions of people playing golf we don't need our courses stuffed full of people playing micky mouse games getting in the way of the rest of us who want to play properly. If you don't want to play 18, play 9, who needs 12?

It's not really going to work is it?? 20/20 was brought in to give the punters a form of the game that would only last a few hours rather than all day. We have a form of the game that can be completed in a few hours. 18 holes. Maybe if they stopped the clowns who take 4 plus hours then we wouldn't need to muck around with the format. Even I get frustrated watching he pros take what seems like an eternity to decide what shot to hit. Just bloody hit the ball fella.

Taking the logic implicit in his recommendations, he obviously believes that people are put off by golf being too hard, and taking too long.

Difficulty of the game and the fact that it lasts more than 3 hours are two reasons I love it.

would agree with the fact that the difficulty and the fact that it takes around 3 hours to complete are a definate plus, but how many times have we all been out on the course and spent 10 minutes of every hole waiting on the groups in front... I cant be the only one who sees a 4-5 hour round in front of us and thinks "thats it, im off to the clubhouse to sink a few pints rather than a few putts". Maybe im just still seething after having to walk off yesterday after 9 holes in 2 1/2 hours..

That is clearly where he is going but 8 inch holes aren't going to make it any easier to get it to the green. Can't see how it's gonna help myself but like I say, as long as it doesn't get in my way...

On a more practical note, this is never going to happen, Jack!

And I agree that getting the ball in the hole is not what makes it a hard game, it's getting to the gren that's the killer.

Not in my case, the times I've been on the green in 2 and walked off with a 5 or 6!

In that case, you need more than a bigger hole :p

We have bigger holes in the winter on the temp greens and I can't get it in them either. I admire his desire to get more people involved and make it accessible but not sure any of these concepts are really going to make a difference

Too right Will, its ok to have an opinion about nike golf clubs, just some may take it the wrong way and go onto another golf forum and have a pop at me and you, to anyone thinking I am talking rubbish, I have met WJC before and Im not naming that other forum but the person concerned will know exactly which one I mean

stick 8" holes on 12 hole courses...im sure JN still gets asked to design a few courses
perhaps he can say JN design will ONLY design 12hole courses from now on

hopefully all the slow hackers & those who cant putt will go play those

and leave the proper courses & that will speed up play for the GOLFERS on proper courses

while ur at it Mr Nicklaus stick those rubber bumpers (you get on bowling lanes) down the side of the fairways so those who cant drive straight wont have to look for their balls

but go for it & ppl will choose which type of course they want to play on
