Just discovered that during the gales last night my shed has been blown to smithereens! The roof, door and two sides are God knows where. Thankfully not smashed into my car, possibly someone else's a mile or do away but not mine!

Its still dark o'clock outside so god knows what's missing but at least my bikes are still there.

I think I may just consider building an Ark, its been raining here since September!

Not quite as bad but it's "Bin Day" today. And recycling.
There's stuff all over the place, from plastic bottles to God knows what hanging from the tree over the road.

Sorry about your shed Craw - anything likely to be missing/findable..?

What's gone will be gone, I could hardly stand up out there!

Garden furniture will be away but I saw the wooden table was still there, god knows about the chairs. The flapping bits of wood and debris made it a bit dangerous to assess in the dark!

Think I saw it lying at the side of the Sherrifhall Roundabout this morning ;-)

If its painted in Ronseal Dark Oak, chances are its mind, stop on the way back and pick it up please.

I just saw Dorothy:eek:

Still howling here, had to turn the tv right up as wind noise is deafening.

Plus side is it'll dry out the golf course quite quickly if the rain stays away!

I have shut the course today due the the winds.....mental,tree limbs flying about all over the place so not a great place for anyone mental enough to want to head out.

I think the wind is consistently stronger than the last gale,I would guess at an average of maybe 40mph and gusts double that!!

Sorry to hear your news thecraw, I hope you have not lost too much.

Didn't quite lose my shed a few years ago but it was close so I decided to invest in a metal replacement. Would have to be a mighty strong wind to shift it as it is bolted to the concrete plinth.

On the plus side, I do not have to "paint" it every couple of years :)

Into work for a quiet day (supposedly) today and we've got three centres that have had serious roof damage this morning. Still too windy to do anything about it.

just found a large slate roof tile buried halfway into my back garden, could have been very nasty, frightening thing is it came from a neighbours house 50 yds away:eek:

Take care those of you up North where it's really blowing...not so bad down here although off for my lunchtime walk now so that will be interesting !!

There is always a bright side! My company manufactures concrete fence posts and my boss can now be seen rubbing his hands together with a glint in his eye !

Please could our scottish brothers and sisters please take back their weather that they have kindly deposited on us normally tropical southerners ;) It's very kind of you to share, but by god it's pretty extreme here ; god know what it must be like up there
