Following on from the rules knowledge thread...
I was talking to a couple of seniors at the club last week. They were telling me about their match they played that day. The weather was awful and they decided that as they were all square after 20 holes (the second green is close to the clubhouse) they would call it a day, and play another time. I mentioned that the 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] (21[SUP]st[/SUP]) hole is a tricky one to start on again; their reply was we’re not starting on the 3rd, we will be playing the match again from the first. I said that wasn’t the right procedure, and was hit with. ‘It’s Match play, as long as we both agree we can do what we want’.
I didn’t bite at the time because if they want to play the match again it only affects the two of them. But how many folk think they can make up their own rules because it’s match play?
