Evening all,
I'm only 2.5 years into my quest to become a competent golfer and after a lot of frustrating rounds this season and having the handicap creep back up this year the few changes that I have made seem to be paying off over the last 6 or 7 rounds.....

I think that most on here can relate in the way that even when you have that feeling you are going to play well, you don't. It can turn a person off the game for a long time.
There has been a lot of heartache with lost balls,fats,thins,duffs,slices,hooks......You name it and this season i think that iv pretty much covered the situation in one for or another up to lately....

My last few rounds I have hit the ball better than I did all year.
My Ping i15 driver doesn't know what a slice is (thank god)....Everythings long and straight.

I won a society event last weekend as a guest with 35 points...For my troubles the prize was a fourball at a very nice local course....
The 4 rounds previous to that were inside my buffer comfortably....

And today i play my own course for the 1st time in 6 weeks and i come in with 42 points off 18 (17.5 exact) for a gross score of 84 and a nett 66.
After a shaky bogie start it went Par, Par, Bogie, Par, Bogie, Bogie, Bogie, Double.
On the back 9 it went Bogie, Triple, where i had an inner meeting with myself and parred my way home from 12 through 18.....

10 pars....Its a shame the odd tweetie didn't pop up.

....Happy is an understatement....

I have the belief that i can get better and will but i think that things are clicking for me a little late in the season.
Still im happy out with things...

A change to my putting grip..
And a change to my main full swing grip coupled with a slight posture change seem to be doing the trick.

nice to hear, am in my 1st year of golf and off 28 thinking I will never get a cut, par maybe 4 or 5 in a round, the odd birdie (unfortunately rare as hens teeth) but feel I should be off a bit lower. New grip and modified stance and a tweak to my swing path, 1st round with it tomorrow although up the range just before my slice was pretty much gone, yes a fade was still present but much more confident over the ball with driver/woods

Golf certainly does reward effort so maybe this is why you are seeing the improvements and consiustency now

long may it continue ;)

Great news fella - very well done! Just goes to show that if you stick through thick and thin you'll get your reward. Now go fetch yourself a nice cold beer! :-)

I cant my friend i dont drink..... : )

How the leg coming on...
I went back training with the lads 2 weeks ago....Still early days but things look good

A nice cold OJ and lemonade then! ;-)

The leg is doing good thanks - am doing a fair bit of running now and not feeling any aches or pains so fingers crossed it's nearly there. No sign of a limp anymore either which is good.

Nice one for going back to training - glad to hear it's going well too. Think it'll be a while before I have the confidence to do it myself, so fair play to you!

Keep trotting away with the running....It'll all stand to you...
Im 2 years after mine and i came on and played the second half of our game this morning....Feels like i was never away but the morning will tell....

It always gets stiff after the golf even but a little walking loosens it out....
