Ok I agree this shot can be watched over and over but come on!!! Does it beat the time I sliced a shot of the range, hit the side wall and hit myself in the jaw???

That's priceless!!!

He missed the putt on the next hole, he made the putt on this hole.

Ermm...yea...that's what I meant! :(

Aztec,
Don't do yourself down - your memory's not that terrible! He did miss the putt - knocked it nearly as far past. It was mildy anti-climactic but not as much as it would have been if he'd three-putted for par!

Nope, the putt he missed was at the next hole. For this hole the ball landed below the hole, the one he missed the putt on missed below the hole. Cant be the same shot I dont think, pretty sure.

He was on in 2 and ended up with a birdie-ergo he missed the putt

Tiger's chip @ 16 or Jack's iron to 16 in 85 are better imo.

The post is not called "the best shot at the masters"

Correct, and no doubt by deleting your last post you are aware both went on to win the tournament ;)

And he did miss the putt btw

:o Ye I kinda miss read it the 1st time :o

No, think you must be getting confused. He definitely missed this putt on 13 - if you don't believe me, check out his scorecard. The shot from the trees was his 2nd, and he made birdie on the hole...

Did that really happen? OMG I would pay money for a clip of that!! :D

Yeah I was about 14 at the time. Me and two mates at the range at abbey hill. My mate whos dad was really good at golf said to me drop your left shoulder and you'll be fine. I dropped it a bit too low (I nearly fell over) caught the ball right on the outside of the toe and then it hit the right wall and back to my jaw. My last 3 teeth are slanted into my mouth now. Only a little but enough to notice a difference.

My mates ran to the bar and a bird came out with some ICE. How that was going to move my teeth back I don't know!!

Good times!

Sorry which hole? I'm getting confused. After the 6 iron from the trees on 13 Phil missed the eagle putt and made birdie.

From the summary of Phil's win in last year's Championship on the official Masters site:

"The defining moment came on the par-5 13th on Sunday, when he laced a 207-yard 6-iron between two pines right of the fairway to four feet. He made birdie on the hole."

Just noticed it actually also says on the YouTube OP that he missed the eagle putt.

Apologies if I have mis-read the thread and you meant another hole.

It was a great shot though. How many top players have we seen put it in the water at 13 or 15 from the fairway never mind the pine "straw".

Na, Ill play my part, sorry for early incorrect comments. Either way, this was a shot I really enjoyed, I saw it last night on the BBC show and it made me want to post it. Its why I like Phil, the way he goes about his game.

I knew I was right! Alex is making me think I'm losing my marbles for no reason  ;)

Like I said, anti-climactic! :D
