Somewhere in the Pulling No punches thread IMurg asked the question is Tiger finished?

As he has just won again and his great mate Roger has more majors than him again, I don't think so.

He seems very fit again, and his short game and putting is back to his brilliant best, no he will beat Jack's record for sure.

I tend to agree although he seems a bit more susceptible to challenges than before. The only thing stopping him from beating Jack's record is the end of the world.

Is that title serious???

I've never seen a more determined sportsman......ever!
14 Majors, a zillion dollars in the bank, wife and 2 kids and having had major reconstructive surgery on his left knee he is still as hungry if not more so for more majors.

He definitely wants Jack's record....after that he may ease up?

I dont think players are as afraid of him as they were, his driving is so wild at times i think he will stuggle in a lot of the majors, and if his short game is just a bit off he will drop shots, the amount of long par saves he makes along with the crazy chip in's and huge eagle putts he seems to make keep him in the hunt in a lot of events but i think he is a long way from his best and don't think he will win a major this year.

I don't think he's finished but I think the others behind him are slowly starting to have a bit more belief in their own abilities and so are making it a lot harder for Woods to dominate. Its no bad thing for golf. Personally I think he'll eclipse Jacks record but maybe only by winning one major out of every 6 or 7 instead of the two per year we got use to

This thread is ridiculous!

The fella has won 3 of the last 6 tournys he's played in, who else in the world can say that?

Well Imurgs question is ridiculous then.

I do however feel that this year would have been really successful for Phil Mickelson if his wife hadn't fallen ill. I fancied him for some big tournaments this year.

Firstly - The 'Tiger Factor' is still very much in all players minds, you only had to see Anthony Kim last week to acknowledge that. Kim had played superbly on Thur, Fri & Sat and crumbled like one of my Grandma's home made biscuits on Sunday when paired with Tiger.

Secondly - His driving has been a joy to behold for his last 2 & 1/2 tournaments. I think it was sat last week when he hit 13 of 14 fairways and only missed the 14th by 2ft. He had his problems when he first came back and its clear he does swing the club different now, but he's got to grips with it and is reaping the rewards.

Thirdly - The reason he is number 1 in the world is due to the amount of 'long par saves, crazy chip ins & huge eagle putts'. The fact he does them so often is testament to the quality of golf that the man can produce. Lets be fair, if anyone else could do it like he does then they'd be up there challenging him for the number one spot!!!

This has to be the most ridiculous thread question ever

Not finished, but seems to has lost his sense of humour, couldn't understand why he walked off the 9th on sunday before Kim had finished putting- bursting for a leak or just bad manners?

This has to be the most ridiculous thread question ever

not all, perfectly legitimate.

no, he's not finished but I don't think he'll ever be as he was. that is not to say that he won't win 'that major' either but don't expect him to play on much afterwards.
