Is the forum not a happy one?

I try to pick may way through the threads and only read the more positive aspects of the fourm. I think it's still a decent forum but maybe winter has resulted in some "heated" debates as cabin fever has set in.

No you don't. Are you saying that just because you have put up a light hearted thread, anybody can be as rude and personal as they like in reply ? Reply in the spirit of the thread, or just ignore it.

You are assuming that what one person puts up as light hearted is viewed by all as light hearted. However, you're right, there are limits to to how far a respondent should go but that doesn't stop them giving a sharp reply if they disagree with something. 80% of understanding a message is reliant on intonation and body language...

I havnt read all the replys to the OP,however i believe this forum is great.
I have got some great advice that has helped my game.
Met some very nice people, people that i hope to meet again and again
at future forum meets.
Everyone ive ever played golf with has been great company and i woudnt change
the forum at all.
Because what you will find is,the people who are nasty wont come to forum meets,
due to the fact they wont be able to back there computer bravado,in real life.
So we wont have to meet them anyway.
Or they will want to come to a meet,so will end up changing.
In fact im getting really excited about next year already, theres going to be some
great meets.
A happy forummer
