Hi, any advice for hitting off tight lies, i'm sure most of us have rock hard fairways and I am struggling, particularly with irons 5-8, resulting in thins, occassional duffs and s****s. I am fine in the 1st cut or even in main rough, just off the concrete fairways - anyone else struggling?

maybe the ball position?

Its a tough one as I think there is a lot of mental attitude associated with this and I have the same issue.

I know I can play the shot and think I stiffen up when it comes to a shot off a hard lie. So, I have to try and relax, take my time over the shot and try to imagine it is a perfect lie.

It works sometimes !!!

Good luck.

Up here in Aberdeen we are screaming for rain - I know the West of Scotland guys will be offering us some of theirs!

We have no grass at all on the links fairways where I play but we just soldier on .. however, I played two rounds on a parkland course last week ... best golf I have played this year!!

Iron play enjoyed but hitting long woods off the fairway was a piece of cake!

Back to the 'browns' and the green, green, grass is just a memory!
