East Coast in June.

Perfect :) wee round at kirkistown (we could set up a Beat the Pro at some of the par 3s)

then we could head down the Ardglass the next morning. lol

oh wait this trip isnt meant to just be "my ideal" golfing expedition is it? lol

if it turns out to be ballyliffin i may still be interested in coming up for one round!

Phil

Right, got a reply back form the hotel.
They are willing to keep their price the same for B&B (79 euros for two nights pps) though the golf club have increased their prices from 50 euros to 60 euros per round (still a lot cheaper than the 70 and 80 euro normal prices.)
This means a small increase of 15 quid for the weekend (€199 (£170) up from last years €179 (£155)). I have contacted the golf club to see if they will do us last years prices, even if they dont, I still see this as great value.
With regards to the poll, two guys voted twice and said that they dont mind either so it puts Ballyliffin and east coast level pegging.

Thoughts? All I can say is that the food, beer and company last year was excellent.

For me to be able to play the when is a lot more important than the where, i can probably only get over the first week in june (when my kids are on half term) so i think i voted east coast as i will be staying around Larne but would be more than happy to play Ballyliffin even if i could only make 1 round

I did enquire looking at around the last week of may, first week of June. The more the merrier once we decide on a rock solid date.

Once again a great offer Brendy and well worth it especially if the golf course will match last years price as well.

I still havent heard back from Portmarnock, they mustn't need the business, either that or John Baylys reputation has preceeded him;)

I think you said it! :D

I think a lot of practice and a wee wager might be on the line with comments like that been made by my good old mate in Derry.
My reputation is impeaccable, although I may not be as late out of the Rusty Nail next year. Looking forward to it already and any week in June works for me.

I will wager that you leave the bar just as late next year as well, your a legend in your own lifetime mate and I will never forget your stupid grin as you made your way across the car park and onto the first tee on the sunday morning just in time to be told you were next on the tee:D

Quality moment and I look forward to next years instalment

Thanks Stephen,
I was still half langers drunk and was in good form alright, 2 x double expressos got my to the 8th, I think yourself and Bondy helped with getting me onto the tee box.

Was it the one toothed, six fingered locals staring at you while duelling banjos played in the background that you found strange Bill or was it the fact that a pint is still available in Ireland for less than 4 euros:eek:

Where did you lot end up anyway?

No idea Steve does Clonmany sound right ? crikey mate i know we were strangers to town but by eck .. between been stared at by the locals & jensen button the taxi driver (suitably named by screwback) bombing down the back roads , some craic with chris dodger , bear , screwback tho .. some boyos to put away the Guinness, tried to keep up on the miller but failed graciously , only drink twice/ threee times a year so struggled

Bondy is indeed certifiably mad Steve, the celebration of holing putts was probably fuelled by the stick he took all saturday night for managing to 4 putt(yes four) from around 15 feet, well the first one was from fifteen feet and the second was from twenty feet coming back:o

Bill, Clonmany would be right mate just a mile or two down the road from Ballyliffin. Next time you gotta go to Carndonagh, then you will know what weird is. But thats being stuck out in the Donegal sticks for you, not easy when your mother is also your sister:D

Will keep that in mind mate , not looking forward to the drive up if it is Ballyliffin again tho , nearly 5hours for me .. Didnt have the pleasure of playing with Bondy but he is mad as a hatter , great lauf . wouldn mind having a go at that par3 on glaseady course again , the elevated tee one

Steve K,
thanks for the kind comments, you diffo got the joker group for sure. I think the piece the excellance from Mr J Bond is marking his ball "007" He is pure tacky, but great company.
Enjoyed the round and enjoyed getting in before the rain. I must admit driving back to Drogheda was though going.I look forward to hopefully sharing a few pints in your company and a few little birdies dropping for you.

Steve what are you trying to stay, should your mother not by your sister, or your cousin your brother ?

Funny you should mention that Par 3, thats where Bondy managed to convert his birdie putt into a double bogey:D

It is definately a bit of a hike for you if it Ballyliffin again but hey, you won last time so didnt do you much harm did it? You will have to go though to defend your title:)

Bill, noone else from your neck of the woods fancy it? share the drive even. If it is to be "the liffin" again, you could jump onto the train to belfast and share a car from there if that made it any easier?

Car is handier for getin home tho mate ,come & go at any time. yeah im gona try rope 1 or 2 of the lads in where ever it is , HID is looking up holidays at the min , hopefuly itl b july for thr family hol ..

I think that I may be a doubt men unless it was May time as I have a lot on next year and have just booked up Oktoberfest to go along with the other cash eating activities that I am already part of in 2012.Stag Do's,foreign weddings and holidays are booked before I even think about the golf trips that I will no doubt be partaking in!

Ballyliffin is a great place to go and I can't recommend it highly enough for any newbies who may be thinking of going!
