To be fair, we drove the guts of 7 hours (330 miles each way) including a boat to get to Spey valley last year for the precursor to Castle Stuart, hit a stormer of the first tee and with the help of my brother brought home a win for the team. a couple of hours these days is nothing. Neil (Twire, did something similar from darn saff in England)

I got up a three in the morning drove for two hours sat in an airport for another 1 1/2 hours flew to Scotland then drove for another hour so a 2 1/2 hour drive from Dublin is not really an excuse IMO. Anyway let's not fall out over it nothing has been decided yet.

well if he is only prepared to travel for an hour or two tops then the location matters to him, to those prepared to fly/drive for hours it matters less.

But we do all like to accomadate the wishes of those travelling furthest for their effort and argue with those prepared to travel least for their stubborness :) its just our nature.

anyways East Coast and id be very interested.

even North Coast would tempt me.

all the best to whoever is in the organising chair! (Brendy/Chris or whoever)

Phil
It was just a hour would definitly see me play both days but maybe not stay over 2 babies at home are my problem. But if it is a links i have not played before i will more than likley travel and distance.

Voted, had no idea about the best area's/courses so just went by what I'd heard and seen from the lads on this years trip. Ballyliffin in late may early june.

Told the boss its a real quiet and a quaint little place with no nightlife ;);)
It worked, ive got the seal of approval

Bill, your not the forgotten man, you have the silverware. Looking forward to a good venue, good company, cool beer, good food and with a bit of luck good weather.
I did see a womens group erected a big 40ft poster on the way into dublin, the message was "golf trips aren;t what they are meant to be " Some woman must have really peed her hubby off and he never came home.

Ballyliffin was defo bed by 11 :D, wel Chris (will gladly stand corrected) kept saying sat evening that he definatly be in bed early .. supose he was right tho , early sun morning:D

Having thought about it, Ballyliffin is going to be hard to beat.

We got a great deal last time and the 2 courses are absolutely top notch

For anyone who wasnt there last year and is thinking about making the journey this time, heres what lies ahead if it comes out on top in the poll http://www.ballyliffingolfclub.com/gallery

Great place and well worth a visit

I think you are right, portmarnock etc would be great but to get onto the big course, it would be rather expensive when you compare it to Up There. Is it a bad thing that we know what to expect up in Ballyliffin? Food was grand, beer was relatively reasonable and the courses were superb. A couple of guys have voted for both so skews the poll a little. Ill contact Linda Toland at Ballyliffin and send Portmarnock a quickie and see how they reply.
