Ipad2 unlocking

I have a friend who is looking for an Ipad2 3g that is 'unlocked'
Does anyone know if they come locked to a network and if so, is it easy to unlock?

They shouldnt be locked as they are retail products, unless it was bought via O2 etc Bob.

It wont be locked matey, certainly not a UK one. Some people have tried to use normal sim cards in their ipads which wont work, it needs the specific providers ipad data sim.
