Insulated drink flasks.

Thermos flask mug. £20 but still working perfectly after 10 years. Holds a pint of tea or coffee which is still hot towards the end of a round of golf in winter. Would obviously do the same for a cold drink. Fits in a car cup holder.

Mine came from Wilkinsons (Wilco) around £6 each. (350 and 500)
and I have one from LIDL about £4.

The former I often use for coffee and it stays hot for many hours.

I also got a 500mmm one from Wilko - reduced to £3.00 (from £5) . Works a treat and keeps my cold drink nice & cold, even through the very hot days of last week. By comparison, my second, uninsulated , plastic bottle had water hot enough to make tea with.

Regarding ice cubes - I too had a doh moment when I realised there was no way they'd go through the opening so I bought one of these - perfect!

You don't need ice cubes or gadgets.

Just put an inch or two of water in a Chilly / Thermos and leave it without the stopper in the freezer overnight. Fill with drink in the morning. It'll then stay cold for far longer than is useful.

Wouldnt you be better off putting a full flask of fluid in the fridge overnight (without the lid) as it will still chill down but wont risk issues with the ice lump?

In the hot weather recently, I had put a 1.5 litre bottle of water in the fridge the night before. Filled 2 500ml chilly’s with it in the morning. Also put a 3/4 filled 1.5l bottle in the freezer overnight layed at an angle so of the neck of the bottle had no water in it. In the morning filled rest of bottle with tap water. Drank chilly on way round and refilled with cold water from iced bottle. Ended up drinking really cold 2litres of water by end of round. Perfect
