I've been trying to get a custom fit session for some new irons at the Ping center via my club but they keep saying the ping center isn't getting back to them.

Getting a bit fed up.

I might go elsewhere.

Can anyone recommend a good independent fitting center in the South-East. I want somewhere that is going to spend a decent amount of time trying out various manufacturers and model options to find what works best for me.

I want somewhere truly independent, has a good range and isn't going to try to push one brand over another (Like AG ;)).

Nothing major the G10's a great clubs.

I've had them for a couple of years now and there looking a bit tired. I was also fitted for them about a month after starting playing, so my swing is now completely different.

They've been great clubs to get me started in golf. The only slight criticism I have with them now is they do produce quite a high ball flight which can be a problem at my place where the wind can get up a bit.

So I'm looking for something with a bit lower more penetrating flight and something that better matches my swing now.

I've been waiting until the end of the season to swap so it gives me time to bed them in before we get going again next year.

Then again they'll probably recommend some G15's :D

Yeah, the i15's is what I was thinking as well as I've really loved the G10's. I tend to stick with a brand if it's served me well hence wanting to stick with Ping.

But I am open to other options.

Nice write up Homer

Ping certainly make some great clubs. I don't think I can remember reading a bad review of any of their irons or woods.

Not sure about some of their putters though

Homer - i tried the i15 and i have to agree with your write up. I thought the look of it behind the ball was awesome! I think the fact it sits slightly open helps this as i hate the look of drivers when they have been slightly toed in! Everyone says ping is for oldies but i have to say it was also the best driver I have tried so far

I was dooing some googling last night on some other locations.

The belfry, athough a couple of hours away, looks like a good option.

Anyone been custom fitted there ? What's the prices like ?

westy, silvermere in Easher (a3 me25 south side) have one of the best pro shops ive ever seen and offer a fitting service. they seem non brand bias but are not the cheapest on prices: www.silvermere-golf.co.uk

Last time i was there i was looking at a new boom stick but from what i saw everything was marked up full rrp. not sure if their open to bartering.
