This isn't going to be easy, and it's been a torrid time thinking about this, and it's obvious effect on my previous post.

improvemygolf.co.uk will be shutting down.

As of now, all remaining stock is at 25% off the listed prices, (calculated at checkout).

The decision with hindsight is an easy one, but one that I have struggled with, and has been far from easy. The business requires more capital than I or my family are willing to risk in the ongoing economic climate. Luckily, the business did not require huge amounts to set it up, in fact relatively little. Which perhaps was my mistake, as I didn't expect to need to spend as much as I need to, to promote and market the business. Perhaps I little naivety on my part. But nevermind, all the more experianced for it now!

I'd like to thank everyone of you that has supported improvemygolf and me over the last (almost) two years. I know that a few have gone beyond what I would expect them them do. So a big thanks to you guys.

It is with great sorrow that I am taking this action, but business is business, and as you've probably gathered from my previous post in this section that this is all tied up with it.

The good news is that the wife and I are at least talking again, which we haven't done in 6 months, and perhaps letting improvemygolf go may just save my family.

Anyway. As I've mentioned 25% off everything.

You guys are the first to know. Email campaign starts next week. So if you're interested, please don't be slow.

It's always difficult to admit defeat and as someone who owns his own business I have every sympathy for the decision that you have had to make, it cant have been easy.

I wish you well in the future

Chris

Sorry to hear this G.

Never good news when a business doesn't work the way you want it too.
Good luck in the next venture Mate.

Although I don't know you, I'm sorry to hear that. There are very few people that I know unaffected by the recession we are in, tough times indeed. Better that you can make a tough decision now rather than being forced into an even tougher one later.

Good luck on your future ventures and all the best in reconciling your family

Sorry to hear this Hapless. I thought it was a nice business idea and the site, products and service were excellent.

I would never have the guts to start my own business and great respect to you for getting it up and running. As you say though it's not a great a great time to be risking capital.

Best of luck for the future with everything.

Sounds like a tough time in your life Hapless but, if this means you family becomes stronger, then it was a 'no brainer' and you made absolutely the right decision.

My current boss lost his house in the last recession as his previous business went under. He admitted he tried to keep things going and pumped money in hoping to turn it around. His biggest relief was when he admitted to himself that he had to wind things up and deal with matters - everything seemed easier in a way. His family is very strong now.

Good luck over the next few months and I respect you for coming onto the forum and opening up as you have.

if it's causing you problems then it's the right decision.
just kick the cat and come back fighting.

and if you want another game sometime, well I'm mobile

fair play haples, i may have to make a simular decision this year and i know its not one taken lightly, lucky for me i dont have a family involved so its an easier decision to make.,

good luck in any future ventures, its a shame as the site is unique in training aids and your service, communication and value was second to none.
