Tried lots of the game improvement irons, including the G25s when I got new irons earlier this year. Really wanted the Pings as I'd previously had Eye2s and loved them. But for me the ones that stood out big time were TaylorMade Speedblades.

To me it's all about trying a variety of clubs and choosing the ones that work for you.

I went to a tour bus club trial/fitting thingie where you could try a range of clubs then be fitted for the ones of your choice.
I had previously tried a demo Callaway X2 7i and liked it so that was going to be my benchmark. However, I was told that Callaway had stopped doing fittings for the X'2s as they'd run their stocks down. Hmmm!
Anyway, I tried a few other brands including the TM's but in the end opted for the Pings.
It wasn't that they out performed the others, I just felt reasonably comfortable with them and the look appealed to me.
