Slammed Imurg again today 38 - 28,and that was with 2 blobs and I won the 2's pot for £12 and 4 points :-)
last week 39 - 36 with 1 blob and also beat him the week before,

Playing pretty consistantly, new Hillman rangefinder certainly influenced club choice on at least 2 holes including my 2 today.

Looking forward to the start of the comps in a couple of weeks

All in all a happy Fragger

has imurg ever actually lost in a level match? ie have you ever played soo well or him soo badly that you have won?

that would be some going! a 18odd shot swing :)

Excellent news.

So the Hillman worth the cash you think? Seems a steal at £100 if it's as effective as those much pricier..

Yes Amanda, initial reaction is very positive, and at £99 brand new , im certainly not going to complain.

That's it then - I'm going to stop faffing and go buy one! Today again on our 12th I underclubbed and took a gap rather than full wedge and hit the green but on the bottom level and the pin was on the top. My GPS told me the distance to the front etc etc and knowing the pin yardage would have made me more confident in the wedge option. As it was practice I took it just to prove the point and it was just past the pin.

Time to invest and trust my game has progressed enough to warrant the more accurate data...

Go for it Amanda, Im still using my GPS, and would normally look to hit the centre of the green. however today, most flags were at the back, but there is no indication of this and if the base of the flag is hidden by mounds, its guesswork.

Knowing the exact distance gives me a target to aim for rather than a general area of the green

Thanks Phil. Between posts I ordered one. I would still use the GPS apart from those approach shots which knowing the exact yardage just adds confidence in the shot required. Looking back at our 12th again today I would have saved a shot for sure if I didn't have to guess and feared going through the back of the green. A tricky sloping uphill putt was left rather than a much easier, shorter straight one.

Looking forward to trying it out and it will be in time for the start of the qualifying comps

Credit to The Fragster, a very solid round, apart from airmailing the 3rd green...!

Me, I just played something that very rarely ressembled golf.
Couldn't string 2 decent shots together and left myself in some positions where I was quite lucky to score.
To be honest I'm amazed I managed 28 points.
Good job we have handicaps as, although I was poor and Fragger played well, I still beat him gross by 8 shots.
The Driver was poor, irons weak, chips average as was putting. One sparkle of quality was a 4 wood that made the green from about 230 yards - and I got 18 inches of backspin on it!
It can't get much worse than today....

Yes Bob - just distance though and not wind speed etc which some gadgets apparently measure...yards will do nicely for me as a head already way too full of data to process

The rules have changed then?
My ex wasn't allowed to use any distance measuring device...GPS/laser/iphone... nothing.
The men could but ladies couldn't.
