Spoke to several of our nurses in the pub on the way home and they said in their experience (one has been in trauma for 17 years so has seen the old broken arm) it would be very unlikely to be able to and VERY unwise to try and play golf so quickly.

I hope you have a good game Mono but I think you'll be in for a nasty shock in the morning

I was expecting a no from the doctor he said you can play but dont over do it if it hurts tehn stop.

My wife works in A&E and i've just asked her, she often works in the fracture clinic too as she does a lot of plastering. She also thinks it is way too soon and, with all due respect, your doctor is a complete tool and deserves to be struck off for giving out info like he has gave to you!

I cant honestly see how a doctor would give such advice to be honest, if you go out tomorrow and break your arm again your doctor is leaving himself wide open to a negligence claim, and in this day & age I cant see a doctor being that stupid.

Have you got a game lined up with friends or will you be playing with yourself, against the course.

Either way, take it easy. You don't want to break anything again.

Mono, don't struggle pal any signs of weakness in the arm stop playing and get a 2nd opinion.I guess the only way you'll find out if its ready is to play and hope for the best.

Guys, guys... give the lad a break. Err.. ummm... perhaps not... err, you know what I mean.

None of us - even those with medical friends/acquaintances/partners are in a position to comment since we know none of the ins & outs.

Mono, the only thing we can say is take it easy - and if you get any reaction at all - even minor ones like aches & twinges then <u>stop playing</u> and give it a bit longer (and see your quack)
