how would you vote?

Simple question and not really interested in the reasons why but after reading through the UKIP thread I wondered what the political spread on the forum was like.

I have voted for one party all my life but that party at the moment is in a poor state with a poor bunch of MP's and a weak leader. My local MP, same party is also very unimpressive. I am desperately hoping a decent independent stands locally so that I can vote for them.

It is the worst bunch of politicians since 1983, IMO.

Not voted for anything, as you missed abstain and don't know(yet). None of the parties really grab my attention as they are all as bad as each other. I will voted come the election, just not made my mind up yet.

Although the question is one the best posed for sometime the answers are missing one fundamental choice

0 undecided that's me for one.

what a terrible waste of a hard fought for democratic right to vote for your environment- you can't moan about decisions if you take no part in the process...imo

Actually it was hard fought to be allowed a choice - my choice is to vote for no one and it will be that way until someone appears who isn't just looking after themselves and their party as opposed to the country

Read a really good article in the other day by an ex MP now journalist saying that the current bunch are by far the hardest working MPs there have been. Most of them do a huge amount for their local constituency and have to put up with such a load of crap from the general public. Plus they a relatively not that well paid if you compare the responsibility and hours they work with other people who earn as much as they do.

As with all these things, the perception most people have of them is made up from one or two incidents and pretty isolated events that generate a disproportionate amount of the coverage in the press.

And if you compare it to say the US political system then we are not in that bad a shape.

An MP's basic salary not including all his or hers expenses is just under £70 grand a year

If that's not week paid then what is ?!

There are thousands working longer hours and with more responsibility who don't even earn half that wage

They most certainly look after themselves and there is certainly a lot more than just isolated incidents that the public judge them on

From my (recent) experience I've been very impressed by the attitude of my MP.

I've met him numerous times and they have been very helpful and supportive to my family and I in the position we find ourselves with our daughter.

I expected to be palmed off with some usual nonsense, generic response the first time I got in contact but nothing could be further from the truth from the first response through the continued contact with them.

So you will never vote due to the fact that there cannot be such a group of perfect Humans.

I think there are bad ones, due to Human nature but there are also many that do work hard for their constituencies. Do you use this principal in all things in life Phil, Employer, Bank, Golf Club etc.

If a party comes along that puts the people of this country first and I trust and believe in then they get my vote
