Smiffy, this is just the sort of tat you'd see being sold at the golf show at the NEC.
In fact they're so cheap that out of curiosity I'd probably buy one just to see how crap they really are.
As least they do have a 3 year warranty, and a customer helpline

In the interest of objectivity, is there any proof the product isn't worth getting?
I think like most things in life you get what you pay for. I'm sure they'll fo a job but at that price I'm be doubtful how robust compared to Bushnell etc they would be and whether they'd stand the rigours of being bashed around too much on a golf bag

Bit wrong bashing something though without knowing if it is or is not any good though.
Some may discover the link for the product but only see a load of negative comments which at the moment are not justified.

My Missus gets an email from both Aldi & Lidl telling her the "deals" that are happening in advance of general release.
She forwarded this one on to me because of some of the golf stuff that is on there this week.
To be honest, I'm more interested in the Goose at £14.99 for Christmas. Trouble is, our freezer is full up!

i.e. possibly just a unit with etched lines (? reticule) that you line up with the top and bottom of the flag and it gives the distance from the flag based on trig. Problem is if the length of the flag sticks vary or you can't see the bottom then it's no use.
