I want Paul Casey's swing

I've asked him for you....I await his reply with baited breath ;)

I'll let you know what he says ;)

I promise you faithfully, I sent that what is on the screen word for word, I just added my email address!

If nothing else he'll have a giggle if he ever sees it.....you never know, he might register here! Then again lol

Now I suppose he's gonna want to keep it :(

It's been said before, that he's not managed to up the gears to be a major, major contender ( if you know what I mean ).

But he does have the swing to get there. However, has he ever had the mental strength and the desire to get to the very top ? Not so far, obviously.

I think that maybe he's got everything in place to do it this time.

World no. 3 as we stand. Tiger not hitting his best. He's happy with his coach. He's happy with his home life. He's proved to himself he can up a gear at the tail end of a tournament just when he needs to.

Ok, so he's one of the many Brits who haven't show that extra something in the past.

But I honestly think ( and REALY REALY hope ) he's got everything in place to be the next world no. 1

Well at least no. 2 ;)

But I'll be disappointed if he doesn't at least challenge for a major over the next year or so. In fact I'll be disappointed if he doesn't win one.

I take it he won then? (birdie sand-save at the last?)

I got called to baby-sit 2 guinea pigs for 30 minutes....kids eh?

Yup.

Flew the sand shot all the way. Pitched and stopped about 5 - 6 foot past.

Nervelessly knocked it into the middle of the hole.

Cue mini fist pump, and big hugs all round. But genuinely looked quite calm at the trophy giving interview. And mentioned that he's set himself some big targets this year.

I think Ross Fisher was damned unlucky with his eagle attempt, and shows that he can be a major contender himself.

Ross is good, but isn't Wentworth his home track?....got to be worth a few shots over 4 days.....

Yes, he knows the course inside out. But he hit a fantastic round, and stood up to the pressure at the end.

Hopefully a stepping stone to doing it at a lesser known track

Don't forget Casey knows the course pretty well too.

True......taking nothing away from Ross, he's a great player....

I don't think Casey will ever be world number 1 but now he has won in the States and has come over here (I was going to say come home but he's really an honorary Yank now) and been victorious I do think its time he got into the mix at mjaors. Maybe he hasn't quite got the game or the mental attitude but as world number 3 you'd expect him to contend more often than he has

Hmmm.....I don't actually believe that he has the game to take some majors. The trouble with majors is that while everyone is watching Tiger and the rest, some freaky journeyman is holing from all over the shop!

His game has come on this year - he's won three times already.

His swing is perfectly strong enough to take a major. It's his mental strength which has been failing him.

For me his bad shot seems to be just a loss of tempo when the going gets tough ( he speeds up just a tad, and so the hook appears ). That shouldn't be tricky to overcome now. Of course it's more than possible that there is a swing fault that I've not noticed, which will for ever let him down under pressure.

What do you think ?

Oh, and he's only been no.3 for a few hours ;) Let's see how he plays the next few majors before judging him too harshly, eh ?
