I pulled a 'mcilroy'!

Played yesterday In a bogey comp, had the best front nine this season with a gross 42 (+6) and 3 up on the course with no double bogeys. Then I bottled it and shot 50 on the back nine giving all 3 holes back to the course but putted a 4 footer on the final hole to half it. Gutted as I know I can shoot much better on the back nine, but pleased as it's the best front nine I've ever played!
Looking back I think if in doubt take my 3 wood/ 4 iron of the tee and keep the ball on the short stuff rather than try and blast a driver and top it 20 yards in front!

I did the same was 3 under my handicap playing the 15th and went double,double,bogey,triple.

Stil havent broken 90 in a comp needed a 4 at our par 3 last to do it yesterday and took a 6!

Next medal on tuesday so not to long to try again!

Did you still earn tens of thousands?
To do a McIlroy properly you need to be in a 4 dayer, but then it could be a Norman, a Hoch, A Mickleson, A Snead, a Van de Velde, a palmer, hell even a monty. He was in great company for those couple of bad holes.

I did the same yesterday in our medal,was 6 under my 12 h/cap going to the 17th tee,finished double ,triple bogey,to finish 1 under,totally gutted.....
