Have the day off today, woken up at 9am by the delivery man bringing me my brand new JPX 800's from The Rod (thanks mate) so had a little play with them in the lounge before heading off for the 1st round of one of my match play matches (didnt use the new clubs yet, as it's the club championships tomorrow). Anyway, that was terrible but it was lovely out and I enjoyed being in the sun so didnt actually mind losing that much as i was playing awfully.
I left there to go to AG in New Malden where the Callaway tour truck was there for the day (I had taken them up on their offer of a free fitting session). Had a really good time, tried out quite a few clubs and after a while we settled on a RAZR? Black 11.5 driver (i was getting more draw on this than the 10.5), and in a different move, a RAZR Black 4 wood, which was lovely to hit, I mean really lovely, especially off the deck. To finish it off went for a callaway 3 hybrid (21 degree loft) and then when all done i was taken by the AG guys to see what they could offer me.. Weeeelll, it was sunny, they asked me if I wanted to buy them so I said yes. It would have been a bit rude not to wouldnt it? Help me out a little here.. So thats £450 gone on the clubs (they did throw in 12 new Callaway Hex balls too) on top of the Mizuno's the other day..
Big spending week! I guess, further on from Oddsocks thread from yesterday, I'm trying to justify it to myself.. Just bought a new kitchen too, so its been a huge 5 weeks spending really!
I think what Im telling myself is that they will last me now for the next 5-10 years or so, so its ok. I'm right arent i? ARENT I?
And I can take the wilson starter set out of the bag completely now.
Feels better to get it off my chest and write about it actually, and I cant wait to pick up the new clubs on Friday (they didnt have the shaft in stock so has to be custom ordered).
I bet I play crap tomorrow in the championships because I'll be wishing I was playing with my new clubs...
