I need advice on dongles please

I'm away tomorrow for about a week and dont know if their will be any hotspots available so I'm thinking about getting a dongle. I'll be using it to access the web for a couple of hours in the evening for 8 days so does anyone know what I should buy please?

Best find out your destination's postcode and go on to the individual mobile broadband sites to check for coverage Bob.

Mobile broadband is generally pants though.

Also consider using your phone as a dongle (if you have a smarty pants phone).

Settings > Wireless and networks > tethering and portable hotspot

Switch on portable wifi hotspot then find your phone on your laptop's wireless and Robert's yer mother's brother.

I would advise against tethering unless you have it arranged with your provider. That is a sure fire way of receiving a lovely bill through the post.

depends on your data plan Bob for your phone. I was on a job yesterday and the bloke had a Three one which was 3g turbo/4g or something giving him bloody good speeds. I had a 3g one a couple of years back for on holiday and it done the job although the area was not the best for reception so as above check this also.

what you doing down my neck of the woods? you could probably get a 3g dongle from vodafone/o2/three etc on a pay as you go from tesco pretty cheap.

looks spot on Bob, one review states about fair use but how can you have that on a PAYG? I guess you would have to check that out 1st depending what you want to do with it whilst away

It looks fine, but it you've already got tethering on your phone contract it seems like a bit of a waste.

Even if you don't have tethering there are apps that you can download so that you can still tether to another device. Just don't tell your phone provider I said that

All I know about tethering is it normally involves a horse of some description.
