I joined a golf club today.

I went to my local golf course today and finally joined as a 7 day member as they are running an offer of 14 months for the price of 12 if you join now. I am now excited that i have the next 14 months of golf paid for

I hope you enjoy the freedom to play anytime you wish without getting out the wallet, next time you have some time off work hit the fairways it's paid for.

Get stuck in to some competitions, put yourself about a bit and get to know the other members and you'll never be short of a game.

I agree with Smiffy. Get involved and get known. Are your competitions drawn or just stick your name down with regular partners. If they are drawn you'll get to meet a lot of people very quickly as you play in them.

The website is a bit bland though!!!!

yes it is definitely a great feeling and i cant wait to get back out there. Looks like it will be next weekend as HID has plans of decorating this weekend

Comps are regular partners but the golf shop is starting up a society aimed at club member to play at different courses and they also hold seperate comps once a month so hopefully i will get to know people through them.

The club is fairly cheap compared to the other clubs around here but it is all i need for my first year in golf atleast and after my membership expires i can join a better club if i wish but i will see how it goes and may end up staying.
