I have took the plunge... GPS

I've just reserved a G5 at £135. I think the shot stats and tracking will come in useful for a novice like me. Great value too.

Wow, Wow, Wow this has got to be the single best item I have ever spent money on in my life

The S3 debut today on the PGA (Belfry) and I believe I am going to drop a good few shots when my putting is on with this little thing (see what I did) after a disastrous start 7 on a easyish par 4 I thought here we go the new device has took my eye off the game. I got a bogey on the par 5 second then I played the next 2 holes -2...

3rd hole - The hole pictured below was playing from the whites with the pin towards the font of the green, the S3 told me I had 168 into a slight breeze to the pin, with a raised green I took a 6 iron and ended within 4 yards. I would normally have taken 5 and hit the middle to back of the green leaving a long downhiller but with the S3's help I picked the right club and a birdie was the result

4th hole - With a 190 carry over water from the tee to get into a good position I took driver and landed bang on my target line. Got to my ball and had 125 to the pin (I think) I took a full PW and again come up 5-6 YRDS from the hole and another birdie was the result. Standing at my second shot I thought to myself 9 iron then looked at the watch and I was a club out.

There was lots of other great shots that helped me hit more GIR than normal and even if I was out of position off the tee the S3 helped me get on the green in 3 with better course management.

I haven't got an overall score as we played match play and picked up when there was a certain winner of a hole. It wouldn't have been as good as it should have been but the S3 helped me pull off shots today I only dream of. The putter was absolutely shocking again following from Mondays shocker. I don't know if its the spiked, sanded greens but the panic button is about to be pressed. I must have 3 putted 7 or so greens. Putting is normally a strong point of mine but the last 2 rounds have been worrying

The last nice surprise was after seeing so many videos saying most people find out they hit there clubs less yardage than they believe when using the measuring device I actually hit mine further than I thought. Well the irons anyway as I already know my Driver yardage which isn't enough compared to the irons :mmm:

The Par 3 3rd from the regular yellow tee...
