Happy New Year all.Just a question on how many if any hybrids do you have in the bag and thoughts on them ? I have 3 + 4 hybrids which at times seem to hit better than my irons.Anyone else experience this ?

I carry one. It is a Mizuno CLK 23 degree 4 iron loft. I have a bit of a like/hate relationship with it. I go through periods where I only just knob it 5 yards and out of the blue I'll cream one and it'll earn a reprieve, then it's back to knobbing it again for the next few rounds. Jury is out for me.

1 hybrid purchased last year, purely due to the ease of hitting them over a 3 iron out of the very wet semi rough, another consideration was they fly higher than their equivalent iron so in theory a softer landing on greens. Mine is a 2 iron loft equivalent but I might weaken it to 3 iron loft as it tends to go pretty far.

I currently have 1 hybrid in the bag on trial.

It's a Mizuno MP CLK 17*.

I've put it back in the bag while the ground is soft and just to see how it goes. If it plays well, it can stay a while. If not, it ooot!

Don't like hybrids, but needs must.

I've fallen out of love with my Ping Rapture hybrid, it was my go-to club but have been struggling with it of late, despite my long iron game improving. There's a hole in my bag for a 3 hybrid but I'm not in any rush for a new shiny just yet....although ebay is calling...

I've always used a 3 hybrid and have just added a 4 hybrid to bridge the gap to my 5 iron. They are much easier to hit when hitting a full shot but are also great for bump and runs onto the greens

I am off to the Pro shop this afternoon to try out a Ping i20 17 degree hybrid. If I like it I might get a 20 degree one as well, and replace my two existing Ping G5's.

Love hybrids, especially when the fairways are wet, out of the rough and for hitting off the tee as well. Certainly will not be putting the 2 and 3 iron back in the bag.

I have a 3 and 4 hybrid both ping i15 only got the 4 hybrid in 2012 as I was in a mind set that as I play of 6 I should be able to hit a 4 iron well most of the time. But just before winter 2012 I swopped to the hybrid. So much easier to hit should of changed along time ago. Why make this game any harder than it is. Embrace the hybrids

That's the hybrid I'm currently looking for... could get now for £60 but looking for a bit of a bargain so keep checking the bargain buckets, ebay etc. but can't find one :-( unless you're selling at a very good price ;)

Sorry pal I gave £29.99 for mine, I've just been out practicing and trying to get to grips with why I hit it so badly. I started from scratch with set-up and ball position. Hitting from my normal position inside left toe produced the usual topp. I began moving the ball back a bit at a time, it got better all the time until just back of center where I normally position my wedges gave a lovely high flight and good distance. I just have to take it to the course and hit it from the new position. Feeling more positive.

I have 2 hybrids both cobra a 18 and a 20 degree use the 18 off the tee and the 20 off the ground
would like a 23 degree as I think the gap to small but I love them.

3 in my bag. Listed below. They go quite far for me especially the middle one. I was carrying it as far as the 19 and 21. Added the higher lofted in at end if August as i found I required that distance quite oftrn and our semi rough was that thick it was hard to get a good strike with a 5iron.

I see handicap wise we're about the same, just wondered how you get on with the 910H's? I like the look and setup of them, but have always been put off thinking they're for better players off lower handicaps. That seems to be the marketing for the titleist hybrids, which could be tosh, but would you recommend them? Are they easy to get the ball up with a nice flight?

I don't think they are for low handicappers at all. I found them long and accurate and very easy to get the ball up in the air.
Using them made me more pars and even made 6 birdies with them.
I don't get on with 3w so got the 17 rescue but find I use the 24 more often on par 5s and long par 4s as the 17 is so long.

People say the same about the drivers that they are better players clubs but I find them quite forgiving. On Sunday I caught the driver off the toe still went where I was aiming just lost a bit of distance.
For me the driver and rescues are the most consistent clubs in my bag and better than many all the other brands I've tried out.

i need a few range sessions with my adams 16 degree again. it is all over the place at the minute. i have no consistant shape so its a lottery every time its in my hand.

That's a very good price for what are a great club... however, I would think moving it back in your stance is stifling it and if I was you I'd be looking to play it further forward.

currently 1, a taylormade 2011 #4 replacement. 21*. I have however just sold my 3 wood R11 with a view to replacing that with a 16* #2 either in RBZ or 2011 form..

I am going to increase the loft on my 21* to 22* and keep the 2 at 16* i think. the 21* is good for 240yrds as it is, so need to back it off a bit and then i will ditch the 4 iron!

I was a bit anti this for a while, until i had a chat with my neighbour who is a PGA pro, he plays with 2 hybrids! so if its good enough for him, its good enough for me! (he has a 2 and a 4, but kept his 3 iron and ditched the 4)
