not sure if im on the right lines, but...

my pro always used to advocate a big turn on the back swing, back to the target, allowing the arms to stay affectively front of the chest, he said a lot of amateurs think they are making a full turn but in reality aren't, just moving their arms back but not really fully turning their bodies

i think this is what Mahan's on about?....

My swing is based on this! weird really, but got the Golf monthly edition which covered these tips before I went for my iron fitting.

Was hitting the ball great before I went in using this technique and hit the irons well on the day as well. the "power slide" he talks about can get awkward as can the right hip turn. Some days I get way to much movement below the waist and it goes pear shaped.

They have helped me get a good shoulder turn and stop swaying.
