I'm sure I read on here that Imurg had the same phone and asking whts the best app to download and is it easy to map a course not listed. Please help me as I'm useless with phones

Skydroid is the one you're looking for - I think. Tried Freecaddie and it couldn't find a satellite!!
Look on the "market" and you should find it. Loads of GPS apps there too.

On a tangent here. I have a HTC Desire and it keeps shutting down and starting again whenever I do something like opening a new web page or opening an email. Anyone know why it’s doing this?

No idea Hywel - mine seems to work fine even if the battery life isn't great. Had the odd force close but its a rarity.

I would try the old fashioned turn off the back on, as this performs a soft reset.
If that does not work then you go into settings>privacy, it has the option to backup data and settings to your SD card. Also in privacy there is the option to do a factory reset. Once you have done this it should then reload your data from your SD card back onto the phone.
You will need to go through the setup process on the phone like you did when you first got it. Once you have added your google account you can re-download your apps from the market for free.
If that fails then it's back to the shop
