I managed my short term goal. We made the qtr finals in the winter league, but lost on the 20th hole.

I've been under my handicap in every winter league game so my other 2 goals look like they may be in danger this yr.

Short term goal: - 6 lessons (Christmas Pressie) to be scheduled before end of April 09. Continuing on from work done last year with pro.

Only just really getting back into things after a lay off due to injury. I played like a donkey at Goswick and was realy demoralised after that.

Trying to get some feel for my swing back, lost all feeling as to where I'm at during the swing and when stiking the ball. Still needing to iron that out before getting lessons sorted out.

I'm going to get some dates in diary for end f this month and start of next month and we'll see how things go from there. Other targets/goals will follow on when this is sorted out.

I don't even consider goals until I come back from Florida. 2 and a half weeks in the sun to hone the swing, and then back to the summer course, and proper comps, off the blocks, hopefully in ok weather. Anything that happens now is a bonus. Already been cut 0.4, so doing ok.

Short game lessons going well and shot 80 in a fourball comp on saturday and shot 78 on sunday in a interclub match play to win 4&3 so playing no handicap cut yet due to placing everywhere.

With a bit of luck, my 3rd card will be done tommorow so that will be 1 goal complete.

I broke 80 so that is another one (way earlier than I thought)

Once I get my handicap back, I will set a goal of knocking some shots off it.

I do hope to be down to single figures by the end of the year but realisticly am not sure I will be playing enough comps to do so!

Short term starts Sunday with the Royal Ascot Cup qualifier. Working towards better short game. Pitching more reliable and had a bunker lesson on Saturday. Putting currently averaging just over 34 per round so room to improve there.

First competition of 2009 on Sunday so we'll see if the handicap target of 10 by 30/9 is a step nearer or 0.1 further away.

Don’t you guys think it’s easy to set a goal and hope it happens rather than work towards it. Anyway, my goal last year was to get down to 6 from 7. Done that in April and crept up to 7 by the end of the year but my match play was really good picking up a couple pieces of silverware. In saying that I played 20 or more medals last year so going up by just one wasn’t that bad. This year I’ve already hit my goal after getting cut to 6 again in the January medal. Not only that, I’ve played well within the buffer in the following February and March medals….28putts in that round. Hit a non comp round of 69 gross then went to Goswick and played like a spare.

Working on a more upright swing in order to stop the odd rouge hook that turns a lot of my rounds sour. It feels real awkward, but I’m sticking with it…..well for now.

So I’m down to 6 again and I want to stay there…….thats my goal.

Short term goal of keeping my iron play going has been achieved, mid term of sorting out my driving is well ahead of schedule however my target of a <12 handicap is faltering as my last 3 round have been 14,18,15 over respectively so I'm not at that level yet. Once I start playing more in the summer though it should be sorted and I'm still confident I can achieve this before the season ends.

I set myself a goal last year of getting down to 18 by september, I managed to get myself down to 17 at the start of august and then had an absolute shocker for the next three months, didn't shoot within 5 of my handicap for umpteen rounds. I then set myself a target of getting down to 14 by start of March and started playing really well again (although haven't got to 14 yet!). I think that if I don't set myself long term goals for improvement I don't seem to improve. After all, if you don't know where you are going how are you going to get there?

Just where I am at,
played 9 holes yesterday for 42 and broke 90 for the first time last week but somehow just doesn't feel right at the mo.Played last friday and couldn't break 100, the wheels really came off big style.

My goal is to get down to 15 by the end of the year but don't know because i'm so up and down but working hard at it.

I dont set goals really.

As long as I have tried 100% on every shot then whatever will be will be,I cant have done any more on that given day so I am always comfortable within myself regardless of good or bad score.

Whether I have set a goal or not all I can do is my best and my best will get to a point whether I have set a goal or not.

The only goal I set was to get 4 shots off my handicap by the end of the year.

Well I can safely say I'm going backwards, I'm up 0.3 already on the start of the year. :(
