Crankies would have done a better job than Strachen.

Strachan is a good manager, best we could have hoped for. Scotland is a work in progress, we've missed major tournaments by miles in recent years but this time we hit the post. Maybe we'll just get over the line next time with him.

Could be worse we could have someone really over rated like Derek McInnes

Strachan's an arse, picks his favourites not inform players.
McInnes has done a great job up todders

Overrated, his team should have won the league this year and bottled every chance they got. Best Aberdeen have had in years granted but not as good as is made out, ask Bristol.

Bristol are always cack, doesnt matter who's in charge, as a Dons fan McInnes has done really well for us, got bums on seats, recruited some good players and shaped them into a decent team and run Celtic into May last 2 years, with a new stadium set to get going, its not a bad time to be an Aberdeen fan, as someone old enough to have enjoyed the Fergie glory years that's saying something. With Celtic under Rodgers,a decent Hearts team, Rangers back up motivated and a steady Dons team the football up here will be better next year, hopefully help start producing some better internationalists, Strachan I'm not sure about, he doesn't inspire me and as an ex Celtic coach will always rile the blue half of Glasgow but compared to Levein he's like Guardiola!

Aberdeen blew four matches that would have won them the league, they just did not turn up.
It will be interesting to see how they kick on next year. They have a good squad, perhaps all they need is a bit of belief.
McInnes has done a good job so far.

Should be a good contest for the league next year with four possible contenders.
Celtic may take a while to settle under a new manager, he obviously has a lot of new players to bring in, and Rogers may make the basic mistake of over confidence [ala Kenny and Barnes]

I think Strachan has been a decent coach for Scotland, their record under him is pretty good.

I always like the old joke.

what do you call a Scotsman in a major international football tournament?

Answer............. Ref! :D

Bits in bold.

We don't really have a good squad which is part of the problem, decent first team but a distinct lack of depth in quality and different types
of players. Plus they have no bottle. McInnes has done OK, and far better than we've had in recent years, but still a frustrating last couple of years when Celtic have been as poor as I've ever seen, this year especially as who knows when/if we'll get a better chance to win the league.

There won't be 4 contenders I don't think, Celtic must be enormous favourites, Rangers pay bigger wages to attract players than Hearts or Aberdeen so will be ahead of both of us aswell I think.

Strachen blew qualification by bottling it against Georgia away. Should have been sacked there and then.

Scotland are a better side than the Republic however a decent manager got them through.
