and which are worth spending my hard earned on cheers i know about the skycaddie an sonocaddie also have you had any problems with any you have or ones to stay clear of
Shotmiser G500 is impressive. Take a look at my review in the review section - I don't have a gps but am thinking of buying one. To me, the choice really comes down to Shotmiser, Sonocaddie and Skycaddie SGX when it comes out. I am waiting until I have seen all of them.
Inthehole, I have not seen the Golfbuddy in action but I thought that it just gave front, middle, back distances without an overview of the hole. I am prepared to be corrected though if I have got this wrong.
I have looked at the ones I quoted as they all have hole overview and you can look at other distances of your choice. Having actually seen the Shotmiser and how easy it is to pick unusual distances , it is the best for me. I have not seen the Skycaddie SGX yet but that is much more expensive.
Only reason I would go for the Golfbudy is that I really do nto like the idea of the ongoing costs associated with the others. Just my opinion but paying every year just to be able to use a Skycaddie is not for me and paying up to a tenner per course on some of the other systems is just not for me. The idea of being able to use it on most courses with no additional fees suits me.
