Pretty damn good, says I

Why? I hear you ask.

Well......

After my indescision about which of their clubs to have, ( I might possibly have mentioned it somewhere else :o ) I finally decided on a K15.

I emailed them Tuesday night, so they received it Wednesday morning. I got an email back saying they'd process it, and send it through to me.

I was expecting to get it sometime towards the end of next week.

I received it before lunchtime today.

Brilliant

Of course I had to stop off on the way home from work just to try it out alongside my faithfull Benross.

The concensus is that I need to work on it. :o :o

It's actually a much better club than I first suggested.

Yes it's much, much lighter than the Benross.

Yes the head is HUGE.

But it sits well behind the tee, and the SF tec bulge isn't noticable when teeing off.

The large head would give anyone confidence at address.

It makes a 'Ting' rather than a 'Ping' on impact, which takes some getting used to, but isn't annoying like I expected it to be.

I hadn't realised it, but I've been developing a rather strange swing with the Benross to minimise the effect of my power fade. The Ping didn't like this particular swing path, and gave some 'intersting results. Some balls sliced more than the Benross, which was bad. And then a load of them started pull hooking straight into the trees ( And if you've ever used the range at Chartham, you'll know that is a fair old pull hook to achieve that ).

I few practise swings using my shadow made me realise that I'd been swinging far too upright. So a few practice swings concentrating on a slightly flatter swing plane was needed.

Obviously that's going to be a long term job to bed in, but from then on, I was getting a much better contact. The flight looks good, I hit most of them from somewhere near the sweetspot ( with a clubhead this big, that's not as impressive at you might think ), and the fade has already all but disappeared.

I say again

This club is better than I first thought. In fact, I'm not sure how long it will be before there is a Benross driver appearing on the market.

This club does what it says on the tin.

I'd recommend anyone try it rather than judging it on looks, or the fact they call it 'super game improvement'. It's so much better than that.

You won't get better customer service or custom fit from any other golf manufacturer.

They are top drawer in that department.

what did you think about the flight on good shots?
i felt the ball just dropped out of the sky like a brick once it hit the top of its flight. very high too.

i went for the g15 10.5 stiff in the end after trying both with different shafts

I found that too.
My i15 was giving me a much better trajectory and a lot less spin

I've said since I tried it a few weeks back that the K15 flew too high for my liking but that isn't to say it won't help the majority who try it. The sound isn't my cup of tea but if it hits fairways then I'd put up with it.

I have to say there is a creeping feeling of all things Ping enveloping me. I'm not sure if it's the call of the rest home yet but they are producing some seriously good kit that begs to be used.

For me it was the G15 that ballooned and died. Both the K15 and the I15 gave a much better flight.

If I didn't naturally slice it so much, I'd have happily chosen the I15.

The choice of K15 was made with mind over heart.

But having hit 20 odd shots with the K15 on my own, I'm very happy with the choice I made in the end.

there certainly is a distinction with hittin a club ON yer own
and hitting a club in front of a pro ? club fitter.

I spent 30 mins with the pro then went back next day and hit 50 balls in my own time. just too make sure.

i changed the shaft in the end
