The way my GC does it is my only real issue with the club, its such a dated and bias method.

We can only book 5 days ahead.
Booking for the weekend can only be done after 5pm on a monday and even then if you arrive before 5pm you have to write your name on a list of lists so no-one jumps the queue.
Its such a pain, I cant get down to the club on a monday night so I'm left to calling and blind booking a time.

I need a system to put forward to the club which isnt so dated. Something that can be used online and at the club would be ideal.

We use club2000 for score inputting, can this system be used at all?

Roll up and go... one of the reasons we stay as a group at our course as we can pick and choose what we like and play with mates. Other courses in the area insist on advance bookings and/or pairing you with strangers.

We can book up to ten days in advance either by phoning or using the online system which, in line with many clubs these days, is provided by BRS Golf. Dead easy to use.

Having been a member at places where no bookings are required, I was rather reluctant to move to a club which required pre-bookings, but I have to say it works pretty well. I prefer it to the roll up and play method, because you can often find yourself rolling up when it's ludicrously busy so you either have to wait your turn or drive home having had a wasted journey.

I have to say, though, that having an advanced booking system which only allows you to book five days in advance sounds a nightmare.

We too have the BRS system, times are bookable 2 weeks in advance and i must admit it works very well.

Would recommend it to any club looking to change their booking method

Sheet comes out 7:30pm Wednesday night. You can put your own name on it, and only your name, until 8:00pm at which time you can put as many names on as you wish. There are 16 of us that play together, and a few of us go down for 8:00pm.

we have a computerised system, you can book upto two weeks in advance and we have reserved times everyday for members and two lot of hour slots om medal days to just turn up.

We need a system due to the amount of visitors in the summer

we have computerised booking you can book up to 2 weeks in advance.

every member has an id and password to log in to the clubs website.

its really good
i can book myself into competetions, also make bookings for people i know to play with me,
or i can make it an open booking which means other members i don't necessarily know can book to play with me.

its updated live, so if i wanted to play in an hour, i can log on see if there is a tee time available then just book it

if everythings booked up i play the 9 hole

edit- sounds like my club also uses the BRS system

Are we talking about Competition tee times or just general bounce game tee times here ?

All comps have a sheet go up two weeks before the date. Enter your name and away you go.

Anything else and it's a turn up on the day with no booked tee times, unless for visiting parties.

I'm talking about any tee time. We are a very busy club. From the first tee time to about 1-2pm the first tee is booked solid. You have to book a tee time weather your playing in the comp or not.
I'm just a bit fed up of having to fight for a tee time.
I'll have to ask the pro why we cant use a system like BRS.

We don't have booked tee times except for competitions. Roll up and go out. For comps you enter in the pro shop and its drawn a week in advance and put on the club website and in the locker room on the notice board The pro has a copy too so there is no excuse for not knowing

We use the BRS system but it really on comes into play at this time of year at the weekends or early doors during the summer on sat and sun pretty much any other time we can just rock up but it is great to just have a look at the puter and see who is playing when.

Brendy knows (I think) the guys who own and run BRS so it might be worth it dropping him a PM.

We use BRS and its fantastic.
You can book at the shop or on the phone too but the BRS system takes some beating.
To be fair, you only need to book weekdays before 10 and weekends before 11. Anytime after that you can just turn up and practically walk on the course.
I wouldn't like a complete no booking system - there's always the danger that you turn up just after everyone else and either have to wait an hour to go out or don't bother.

We have an online booking system that can be booked 2 weeks in advance. You can also ring up the pro and book that way if you like. You can just roll up as well and the pro will usually let you go out as long as you don't end up affecting a comp.

According to the club noticeboard we have just introduced an online booking system for competitions. Not tried it yet, but for all other play it is turn up and play.

Brs system for us but booking is only required for Tuesday and Friday-Sunday. The only problem is Saturdays as everyone fights for a slot and bookings go live at 1600 13 days in advance.

Another BRS user.

We can book 13 days in advance, and if you really want a specific tee time you can just stay up until midnight 2 weeks before and book it as soon as the day ticks over.

We don't use it for competitions though as all ours are drawn.

We can book any available time in the future less comp times whenever the Clubhouse is open. At the moment just turn up and play.
