Do you have to register as an individual? Does your club just put you on there anyway? Do you HAVE to be registered to check your own scores etc etc or can you just check the club results somehow?

If your club is signed up to it, your scores will automatically go on. You then need to log on to access the information.

I wish I knew, for some reason I can't register on there.
I register my name then my club then it informs me that there are no details under my name from Bolton old links.

I must of tried this at least 10 times, I must be doing something wrong.

New User Registration Process. All HowDidiDo users are now required to register to use the service. Registration is completely FREE and simply requires the user to register with a valid email address, set up a password, notify HowDidiDo of their home golf club and, if they wish, any additional clubs they are members of.
There are 2 levels of membership.
Standard Member (FREE) · Access to your online Handicap Record (and soon a printable CONGU Handicap Certificate). · Access to over 1500 clubs’competition results, course stats and handicap lists. · BBC News Headlines on your homepage. · Weather from around the world.· Customisable homepage with HowDidiDo ‘Widgets’. · Access discussion groups about topics related to your club. · Competition Results and Handicap Change notification via e-mail.

Club 2000 are a supplier of software to golf clubs. I think they have a significant share of that market and run the Howdidido website which interacts with their software to show results online. If your club uses another supplier (mine uses HandicapMaster) then it won't be on Howdidido. HandicapMaster has a similar online results service called MasterScoreboard. Incidentally, looks like Bolton Old Links are on HandicapMaster/MasterScoreboard too.

Your club must use the HDID software if they do then you need to register in the home screen, simple even I can do it:whoo:

What is your club, JO? I can check if your club is on HowDidIdo or Masterscoreboard.

it really is a great system. my brothers club are starting to use it this year. ill be able to see how he gets on every week now. even talk him through his round after. great stuff !

Another good thing on HDID is you can go on in after your round is posted & build your stats , you pick the hole & enter shot details ,.. Ie shot 1 driver to .. fairway , rough , bunker etc . then shot 2 .. fairway , green , bunker etc

Qwerty,
if you want to pm me your real name i'll see if you are on there if you like. Up to you mate.

Thanks Fore. I've just found out that the club isn't using HDID anymore, they're using something called handicap master. It doesn't look too great. Looks like it was knocked up on a ZX Spectrum.

This is a bit curious - Bolton Old Links is on both Masterscoreboard and HowDidIdo. I would have thought it highly unlikely that they process scorecards onto two different software systems.

On HowDidIdo the last update was 26/11/11 whereas Masterscoreboard was updated on 31/1/12. Perhaps your club has just switched from Club2000 to Handicapmaster. To access your results, handicaps etc. on Handicapmaster, your club has blocked access unless you have obtained a password from your Secretary.

Have to disagree. I have access to both systems (long story) and consider Masterscoreboard vastly superior.

We switched from Club2000 to HandicapMaster last year. Got to agree that from an administrative point of view the HM software is vastly superior. It's more reliable, more intuitive and is built on a more robust database (SQL server as oposed to Access). Has better support (not that it's needed much as it works!). Oh, and it's half the cost after the first year too.
Master Scoreboard hasn't all the bells and whistles of HDID but does the simple stuff like displaying competition scores and personal hole by hole records very well which is what 99% of users want. There's no need to register because they are not trying to sell you anything, it's just a free service. Fast and reliable unlike HDID too.
