How crap do you have to play before you're really disappointed?

What's you're h/cap and what score would really leave you feeling feck'd off with your game and make you feel like you'd played like a total knob?

Off 6 a round of 12 over leaves me feeling like i've played like a knob... anything worse and I'm close to quitting

off 7, any more than 10 over round my home course unacceptable - away from home im a little more tolerant (he says with woburn and woodhall ahead lol)

Im off 16 and if i shoot more than 90 im like a demon.....I think that i expect things to happen too fast and im always out to try and better my handicap.....

Some may say its too much pressure to put on yourself but i think that its the only way of getting better.....Otherwise your just playing for a walk in the fresh air and a social outing.

At the moment, off 10, I'm disappointed when I don't break 80 (SSS 68 on my course).

This week I shot 85 and was very annoyed with the way I played - but golf being what it is my 30 yard chip in for a birdie on the 17th meant I finished in a happier mood!

To be honest, I think 85 - 7 shots over my handicap - is a terrible performance.

Bouncing between 9 & 10 h'cap and anything outside the buffer is disapointing, anything worse than 5 over my h'cap leaves me really pee'd off.

I spend a lot of time either disapointed or pee'd off :D

I am currently 20.3 but improving fast. anything over HC i am p'd off with, i know i can shoot 80 and below in my head, i just stuff up one or 2 holes that leave me high 80's early 90's all the time..

I haven't been a member anywhere for toooo long now, but from my pay and play games I'm off about 10.5. I always "expect" to break 80 and am disappointed with anything over 83. If I get near 90 then things start going a bit red.

I never let the game get to me, and if its 'one of those days' were everything goes to ratshit, hey ho, they come along, so it wont eat at me.

I'm more likely to get annoyed with playing to Handicap or under if I've missed some sitters too......the 2 footer's that should have been holed.

But either way, its just a game, it dont pay the bills.

Good question really. I was playing off of 21.4 two weeks ago and felt as though I played awful, although counting up the score at the end and I had gone round 23 over par for a 0.1 back.

I still wasn't happy with my round even though I wasn't far off my hcap. Although proved I am better by getting cut 1.5 down to 20.0 the next weekend.

Not being a member of a club now every round is paid for right out of my pocket! I enjoy every second on the course, what little time I have. I am just glad to be playing!

Interesting... a spread from about 2 over h/cap to about 6.. can't see how 2 over h/cap is exactly time to slit your wrists but 4-6 over seems to be a mark most of us would be p*ssed off with.. regardless of handicap!

It seems something like this might be true(ish)..

0-4 h/cap 3 over is crap
5-9 h/cap 4 over is crap
10-15 h/cap 5 over is crap

High expectations we all have

under 20 stableford points i would be very very sad indeed
if i didnt get to double figures i'd hang up the footjoys

:(

For me it's all about good ball striking. My aim is always to break 80 but never too bothered if I don't. What still drives me nuts is my ability to completely mis-hit the ball from a perfectly good position. Either the cut the ball in half thin shot or the fat where the divot goes further than the ball. It might only happen once or twice in a round but it still test my sanity.

Anything that doesnt get me a cut in comps so over 97 (par 69), unfortunately this happens in most comps hence only 1 cut so far for a 94. (a shame as I am always around 90-92 in social rounds :( )

Unfortunately I have put too much pressure on myself in comps hence the crap scores, new mantra this year is swing easy and what will be will be :)
