How close have you came....

Came pretty close at Beau Desert last year at the GM meet. That would have been expensive as there were some professional drinkers there that day!!

Had one with a reload when my 1st went in the water at Blakes in Essex. Luckily didn't count as a hole in one so no bar bill...felt pretty good though, once bounce and straight in.

If I had one at a forum meet I'd either take a penalty drop and putt it in for a par (probably not allowed) or quickly reload and hit another without declaring it... thus making it the ball in play and incurring several penalties, hopefully :o

..... or run!

Nearest has been about 2 inches apart from my unofficial HIO when there was novody else on the course to verify it.
I've been 15 inches from an Albatross before. 2 well struck 3 woods - downwind and only a 485yrd par 5 as there's a lake to cross - carried the clag and ran up to gimme range. Easiest eagle I ever had.

On friday the ball stopped around 4" from the hole, the boys I was playing with were saying the whole way to watch it!

I have had 1 hole in one at Glasgow Gailes 128 yard Wedge, never seen it go in but we knew it was fairly close...as it was an away course i never had a bar bill but we where on tour so i bought the lads a jaiger bomb in town at night... :)

Played a medal at Gillingham.

Started on the 12th ( 2 tee start, 1st and 12th), Par 3, the ball ended up sitting in its own pitch mark less that 2" from the hole.

Got to the 6th, again a par 3, left the ball less than 6" from the hole.

2 near-misses in the same round, never had a hole in one.

Never mind medway' Spurs always win the cup when the year ends in 1, think of what you've got to look forward to :D

I'm assuming you could simply declare it lost, if you know it's in the hole. Then reload and get the 5 (feckin' par my *rse!)! ;)

Had a couple though both on relatively quiet days, had a lip out on a par 4 for one which wouldve been nice

Dad had the real expensive one, his wife had one on his captains day!!!!

If you're talking where it stopped about 18" a couple of times. I did hit the bottom of the pin once and damaged the cup but the ball ended up about 3 feet away. I was actually convinced it was in, my heart was racing as I walked to the green.

Had to feel a bit sorry for a fella at our place in June, he had one in our club championship, there were only about 80 in the field but he didn't hang around long enough to buy the drinks

Coming up to 27 years of playing now at a decent handicap level for most of that time and still not got one, closest was a 5 iron that landed short, run upto the hole and was deflected sideways to about a foot, missed the putt I recall too, at the old 10th at Tinsley Park Sheffield, also had a 3 iron that never left the flag on a semi blind hole, the pitch mark was dead in front of the hole and the ball was directly behind the flag so it must have been close to going in on it's journey, somewhere on the back nine at Brookmans Park Herts. :D

our 16th 187 yards
i hit 7 wood to 2 ft
My partner then hit utility to 12 inches - git !

Them watching from the 17th tee, the guy playing as a single behind us, then pitched it second bounce to the back lip of the cup, embedded itself a bit and stayed there aboev ground .

3 most accurate shots i've ever seen in a row
