You need to speak to someone who saved it for offline reading James

personally would be wider as collective, i reckon 8-18 for mid..
Yeah... can't claim 6 to be "low" in all honesty.
At the risk of channelling the spirit of our departed friend.... anyone who needs a stroke a hole must be a high handicapper?![]()
You cant be inconsistent as said in this thread and be off 6 imo.
I think it's consistency. Mid handicapper can certainly play the game but will hit too many poor shots and have too many rounds where they're just not "on their game". But certainly capable of a nice swing and good ball striking.... sometimes!
In theory the handicap range is 0-28
Mid handicapper would be around 10-19. That's the middle third of the handicap range.

In that case we need more categories.... You cant lump a 9 capper in with a 1 or scratch. Theres a massive difference...
Except the difference in ability between each handicap number becomes more pronounced as you get lower. IMO, there's a (much) bigger difference between someone off scratch and me than between me and a 14, but just the same numerical value.
I think there are various levels within the low/mid/high bandings. 6 'capper will still be hitting plenty bad shots, just not as many as those off 14.
Currently working with one of the best ball strikers I've ever met... his h/cap is now 15 down from 20 just a month ago. He has the potential to be a lot lower based on his ball striking.... but he's nowhere near just yet.
Just think how low he could get.... not "working" with you???
