It has been about a month that I have been commenting on all your swings and games and I was keen/interested to know how you were getting on?

I always want to get as much feedback about your games after the comments that I made to develop an understanding of your game and help you more in the future.

Look forward to hearing from you all

Im playing great golf at the moment after a stale spell creating a bit more width at the top of my swing

The 'Feeling like its hard to breathe' drill at the top has helped alot leading to a consistant strike and some quite fancy scores

Thanks

my short game is about as good as its ever been. im developing an all round good short game. i have given myself a few extra options around the greens and in the bunkers.

still debating whether to put the lob wedge back in the bag tho!

Long game still isnt its best but tbh I havent put the effort in at the range as time has been limited. although i look forward to bringing the two together eventually and shooting some good scores!

Neil,
At address, I feel like I have a good weight distribution, a good heal toe balance, shoulders, hips and toes are square to the ball to target line and my arms are hanging in a dynamic position to initiate the backswing.
As I begin my one piece takeaway, I feel the club going back on plane, checking the shaft angle and clubface position at 9 o clock. When thats ok, I initiate a slight weight shift on to my right side (sorry JustoneUK), keeping my dynamic posture as I complete a full turn, keeping the club shaft and face square to the target line at the top of the backswing and keeping my right knee flexed.
Then comes the transition.
Do the legs drive first or does every thing start down together?
Certainly, I dont want to snatch the club in the transition, which probably results in the shoulders throwing the club outside the ball to target line creating an out to in swing hitting a pull or slice.
I try to use the centrifugal force to create power and width to the secondary power phase of the swing as I drive my core muscles and turn my body down and through the ball, firing my right knee just before impact and hitting passed the ball, not at it.
With the right elbow pulling down and the shoulders resisting the urge to throw the club outside the line, I drive my legs, turning inside the gate to create a powerful coil up and lag hit with the hands retaining the L position until the last second which ensures a powerful release of the clubhead into the impact area.
Then I free wheel the swing into the high finishing position which is balanced on the right toe and a straight left side and hold the position until the ball lands.............at least I fink thats wot u sed :D

My iron's, Wedges & Putter all seem to be working great at the moment, really swinging it nice and easy.

But, yes the but, My longer Clubs, ie, 3 Wood, and Driver are giving me a bit of hassle, my 3 Wood is in the shed, put my TM Rescue Mid 2 in the bag instead as my confidence has just gone with it. I feel the Driver is also confidence, just cant seem to stand on the Tee without the jitters.....I have now found the slice I had when I first started playing the game.....Some range time needed to create some confidence I feel

I'm doing OK. Have had a second, and two 4ths recently and got cut down to 13. I should have won on Friday but finished +6 for the last 3 holes (only +7 gross standing on the 16th tee). My putting has come on leaps and bounds and my ball striking is just coming back too. My chipping is still erratic (too wristy or too stabby - fats and thins) but have been working hard on this so I hope I've turned a corner.

All in all I'd say my game is about 7.5 out of 10

Sorry Neil. I guess it's nice to get feedback results.

Anyway. You suggested that my grip was releasing and re-gripping at the top of my backswing, and that I should place a pencil, tee or something similar under my fingers.

Did that down the range a couple of times. Felt very weird. But I found it stayed there if a didn't over back swing. So I've reduced my backswing slightly to keep a consistent grip with my hands.

Together with a few other pointers, some aspects of my game have improved. My set up and swing are very different to the one I posted on here.

Not great, but thanks for asking.
Absolutely no consistency - Played in a Medal yesterday - 4 pars and a birdie going out (I play of 17). Ended up with 88.
Came second in my division but could have shot sub 80 for the first time. At the range today I was hooking absolutely everything....funny that....seeing as the stock shot yesterday was a push.
Grumpy? Yes, that's one way of putting it.

I am in one of those horrible places at the moment where somme/most of my shots go in the right general direction with good distance control. I am rarely short now nut still have nasty thoughts in my head when it comes to my ironplay. I seem to do ok but every so often I get the feeling that the shot im about to hit is going to shank or really not go on its intended line. It doesnt always go wrong but it does sometimes force me into hitting tge safe shot.

After carding 3 scores at a newly joined club, I was given a handicap of 24. I was then cut to 18 after winning my first ever comp with an 86 nett, 46 point stableford!! I was worried that that was an aberration, and I wouldn't be able to play to 18 easily. Well - this weekend was the 3rd in a row where I've played either to my buffer zone, or, this saturday, a 2 under 88. I'm hoping this gives me a platform to attain my goal of 15 by the end of the summer.

Key changes are - a few lessons to get my swing fundamentals right - still work to do, but my consistency is about 50-60% at the mo. I've changed my putter, and my technique - now I take a slow, almost deliberate backswing. It's meant the difference between a minimum 3 three putts, to this weekend, 6 one putts, and the rest 2's. I think its the single most important improvement to my game.

Loads of work still to do, but I'm going in the right direction and I'm more determined than ever.

This sounds a lot like the progress I made in my first seaon last year when I got cut from 28 to 17 in about 4 months. I am now shooting anything from low 80s to high 90s and its driving me nuts. My advice to you would be to get out there and enjoy your golf. Don't become obsessed with cutting your handicap like I did. You will only add pressure to your game and you won't enjoy it as much....believe me!

I'm the type of person who just HAS to get better at what they do. This is annoying in golf in particular, as its such a roller coaster! Its very hard for me to break the habit, but if I don't, I'll get more and more depressed when I'm in a bad run of form. So maybe that should be my target, rather than a handicap number - just enjoy the game!!

I'm playing well just not scoring. I shot under my handicap for the first time in a medal this year on Sunday 71-5-66 (par 68). I'm hitting the ball better than ever but I'm making some silly mistakes which are costing wasting what should be good rounds.

Put a lot of practise in over the last few months, and I am more confident in my game than ever before. Constantly looking for that "strike" every time I place a club behind the ball, and always looking forward to a game. :)

A grade 2 bristle head?

Seriously, get hold of a second hand club, any club so you can at least feel where the shaft and head are going on your backswing. (no conectations meant whatsoever, why did they have to call them those names?)

There is a sports world in Kidderminster. Go in and buy a few clubs and a carry bag....or ask around generally.
Get a small set out the paper? or look at car boot sales, that sort of thing.
Get hitting balls ASAP....
