Callaway Kid, his pal Les (who'll hopefully be joining our ranks) and jammydodger ventured down to play my track today. The sun shone, the greens were on good form and a good time was had by all. In all the excitement I failed to take a plethora of photo's but I do have this one of my errant tee shot on the 15th that ended up in a rather unfortunate position.

A warning for future forum meets Callaway Kid is a demon putter: at one point commanding 15 foot gimmes!

Thanks for your company today guys, thoroughly enjoyable and I look forward to playing you again soon. For those high handicappers who are a little wary of signing up for forum meets don't be. Great company, quality banter and good fun: just the way it should be. That said I'd be a liar if I said the nerves weren't jangling when they asked me to "show them the way" on our opening hole!

I think CK bagged 31pts but I'm not sure what Les and JD scores were. I had a good day today and scored 39 though I had an unmitigated disaster on our second. Topped my tee shot, duffed my next into a fairway bunker. Hit my first bunker shot into the gorse. Just got my reload out of the sand. Then thwacked that into the gorse. Gave up at that point. However JD did give me a Bridgestone B330S at that point which served me very well for the rest of the round.

Not joking about CKs putting either. Requested a massive gimme on 8 which we laughed off then he casually rolled it in. On the front nine his short stick was on fire.

Tiger, it was a pleasure to play there with you guys! The greens responded very well to my style of putting...loved that massive two tier one!

Well, I fell apart on the back nine and found lots of the prikely stuff...shouldn't have worn shorts!

Les loved it too and he'll be joining our ranks soon including his banana shot!

Thanks again and the next one's on me!

Arguably shot of the day that one. Right at the back of a two tier green with a six foot drop getting it deadweight to the crest of the hill and it rolling to a couple of inches. Frighteningly good!!!!

Thanks for inviting me down Tiger , I had a great time. Pleasure to meet you, Callawaykid (Craig) and Les (he does a mean leprechaun impression).

The greens were in very good nick but Craig was just showing off by holing everything he looked at on that front 9 :p When he putted that one down that big bank I couldnt believe he stiffed it , it was like coming down the Alps.

btw I managed a solid 35 points which for me was something of a miracle at the moment. I guess just using my 3 wood most of the day helped as I was having a good day with it.

ps Craig - I hope Les got some food cos he looked like he was going to be sick with hunger. Oh and not a good idea to play a gorsey course in shorts :D

That 3 wood is a thing of beauty. Great flight and lovely draw. You deserved 35 today after that stunning finale birdie, birdie, par. What a way to sign off! Perhaps Les is on a drip which explains his continued forum absence! :D

Cheers guys! We got Les fed don't worry! I've got reserves but he hasn't!
You guys have got some real good swings, Tiger's one to watch for the future. Lot of potential there!

Hope you got some rain this evening!

CK

So dry in Suffolk it's ridiculous!

Dry would be an understatement - we've had almost no rain for about 3 months now. I'm surprised there is any grass still alive on our fairways right now, its like playing on concrete at times! Nice ego boost when you get a good drive away though
